I think it's irresponsible list management if it's true that we knocked back 10 and 16. That's a wonderful deal for us.
A list manager would jump at trading a 29yo for picks 10 and 16 .
A coach might prefer a senior player amongst a developing team .
I would hope Bolton feels no pressure for immediate results as against doing this rebuild properly and the bigger picture of sustained success .
Picks 10 and 16 of course could be used to bring in talent in our desired age demographic .

The word for a little while has been that a certain senior player has told the club he’s off if Gibbs is traded. If true, it might suggest why we are looking for a player as well as picks.
Wow, now we can divert our speculation to which one of our few senior players of value that may be and forget about all this baseless speculation of what we'll get for Gibbs and how we'll turn it into Tom Lynch and Josh Scache.

Barass70 (a really reputable insider on the forums) posted before that Adelaide have offered picks #10 + #16 for Gibbs, but SOS wants #10 + Cameron instead, as he feels like we would need a player along with a pick. Apparently SOS wont do the trade unless we get a decent player in return.
Despite Cameron desperately wanting to go home to QLD? Even 10 and 16 is overs in my books, if we rejected that we are numbskulls. Sounds legit...

I’m somewhat torn about this. Picks 10&16 sound great if true, but with a relatively weak draft what does Pick 10&16 get us?

I can understand the reluctance in giving up Gibbs especially if Lang is GC bound.

If the net ‘player’ result is Gibbs out and Kennedy in, we likely go backwards next year. Something we can’t afford to do...

Agro told you all a few weeks ago which player it was rumoured to be.
Murph?

If any player leaves off the back of a bloke being traded after requesting to leave a season prior, then they couldn't be any more short sighted.

Think Mark Austin's already in the EDFL so nothing to risk on that

If you were Marc Murphy would you hang around and tolerate another bottom 4 finish with your co-best mid being traded out? I'd be massively annoyed. 200+ games and a few finals a few years ago but nothing to show for his outstanding efforts and skill and captaincy.

An inflated assessment IMHO. Murphy has been maligned for his lack of intestinal fortitude and if he decides to jump ship in the current climate then he can GAGF and let the door hit him on the way out.

Not maligned by me. Look at his record - outstanding stuff in a dark era. No threats to jump in the press.

All i am saying is I can understand why with a ticking clock in his career he may be mightily peeved at us taking a backwards immediate step.
