We’ve been linked to the following through the press and our insiders for this draft period: Kennedy, Scully, Kelly, Saad, Smith, Shache, Lang, trade of 3 for 7&8, Cameron, Gibbs for 10 & 16.

This has raised (almost) everyone’s expectations for this period. When only 1 or 2 trades get done, there’s going to be some over the top reactions.
Rumours are just that - rumours.

Same goes for hypotheticals.

No implosion at all, if we can accomplish both trades of Kennedy and Lang in for very little , whilst retaining Bryce Gibbs that's a big win for CFC.
Two quality young mids and a third , Adam Cerra pick 3 , and we've bolstered our midfield very well, mission accomplished.

Agree mate. Some of our supporters don't realise how valuable adding 3 young midfielders into our rotation will be.

Cripps, Gibbs, Murphy, Curnow, Kennedy, Petrevski-Seton, Lang, Cunningham. That is a very very good 8-man midfield rotation before adding Cerra/Dow/LDU/Rayner.

there are no other teams worthy
Let's try and take this seriously for a second:

Hawks have 44, 68 & 81

We have 3, 40 & 58 & 77
I thought the Hawks have a pick about 6 spots before our pick at 40?
If so we maybe speculating doing a trade to move up in that stage of draft and move our 58th back a little.
Then trade the pick in 30's for Kennedy to get deal over the line.

EDIT: Forgot what I said, I now see Hawks already traded that pick for Impey.

Get ready for the implosion on this board when only Kennedy and Lang (maybe) arrive. It’s going to be a disaster.
If that is the case then posters should be ashamed of themselves.
We have had two A+ trading/drafting periods, with some superb young players developing.
We are devoid of mid range trade bait, tying our hands. Lost our 2nd this year bringing in multiple
players.
Next year's super draft also (combined with up to 3 father/sons) ties hands from using future picks.
Our greatest short term need is for a (semi) mature "partner" for Cripps to avoid burn out.
Kennedy does this, and Lang should be an upgrade on both Graham and Boekhorst in their roles.

Been told Lang has nominated us.
So our 2018 second round pick (#19-25) to GWS for Kennedy and GWS 2018 second round pick (#33-36).
Our 2018 3rd round pick (#37-43) to Geelong for Lang

Sound fair? Or do we really need next years third round for Father/sons so better to use #40?

Coupled with by this time next year we will be closer too knowing who of our previous recruits will fit and which we can move..
