One other issue with Gaff given he is such an outside player is that he simply does not kick enough goals (6 goals last year, 7 the year before, career high of 11).

In a perfect world we would be able to bring in a goalkicking outside mid (given our scoring woes), but that said adding Gaff's 29 touches a game without giving up a player/pick would certainly improve us regardless.

They would have to pay a lot more.

Seriously why would you go there? There are going nowhere.
Saints will be on the fringe of the 8.

They addressed many of their shortfalls in the last draft, but the still lack class/finishers through the midfield.

That's why they have been interested in Gaff

Personally, they should have taken LOB, with one of their picks

Ide take that in a heartbeat ...... Cripps/Kennedy/Ed/SPS would love knowing their hard work at stoppages was going to a smooth mover like Gaff. We would probably see (plucking a figure out of my arse), +10% in scoring just from his boot into the F50 alone.

Only thing is, he turns 26 mid this year ... so not 100% sure if the demographics are right.

I could watch his delivery all day ...

If the money is right, we should be able to get Gaff easily

Who would have a better shot?

At Carlton he can get paid and play in a good side (2019 onwards).

Get to play in front of decent crowds etc

Surely ours if we want him
Just needs to barrack for us as a young kid

He'll be 28 then when we'll win no 17 so that's okay then .

I agree and the one thing about Gaff, despite getting his fair share of attention, he isn't soft.
I think Gaff has missed 1 match in the last 6 years.

That's a pretty good endorsement of his mental and physical strength.

Admittedly playing on the outside helps avoid impact injuries, but it's still an impressive record.
