Shiel would play the same role as Cripps and Kennedy. Would cost a lot.
Kennedy probably made up his mind to leave GWS because of Shiel in their side along with Hopper.
List-balance wise doesn't make sense. 3 inside mids - none fast either.
I know he is good but not sure we should take him.
Edit: If Cripps went fwd then might make sense.
Shiel is quick and his outside game is dynamite.
I think he fits perfectly into our long term midfield mix. All can kick goals.
2 inside bulls - Cripps & Kennedy
2 gun inside/outside players - Shiel & Dow
2 balanced mids - SPS & Fisher
Plus outside mids in O'Brien, Lang, Pickett, Garlett (& Gaff?) and hbf/mid types in Williamson, Cuningham and Docherty.
Add in a spattering of talls (from Charlie, Weit, March, Plow, Harry, Jack, TDK, etc) and maybe a specialist small at each end that's pretty much a team. A damn good one at that too.
(I've only really named guys younger than 25 here too, so when I say long term I mean it. There's obviously gonna be a few senior guys that stick around for quite a while pending form and fitness... Jones, Kreuz, Murph, Ed, Wright, etc)
