If we aren’t into Libba then we’re doing it wrong. Hard at it, lays tackles, good at extracting to the outside and a premiership player. We need to back our culture to turn someone like him back to the player he was and can still be. #sonofagun

They did, but I doubt they'd have slaughtered them on the MCG like that.

I'm not hoping to "out-Richmond" the Tigers, but what I am hoping for is some ability to trap the ball inside f50 and do some damage with ground ball gets whenever it hits the deck.

With McGovern, will have the main targets aspect covered. But the other options after those 3 definitely need to change. We need a mercurial small forward and 2 quick pressure small/med forwards to go in there with them. Hoping we give Cuningham a go in there next year. He has pace, we drill the message into him that his role is to apply constant pressure on the opposition. When he gets a shot at goal, he's proven that he can put it through more often than not. Rotate him in the middle when/if required.
FWIW - Domain Stadium was built to exact same dimensions as MCG.

Dude.

It's from another CFC board. The guy is an established and well regarded poster.

He's confirmed it's Wallis and a Port player who is a possible get.
Seriously, Wallis is EXACTLY the kind of player we need. He’s good enough to be the 3rd or 4th best mid in a decent side, gettable, won’t cost the earth.

Competition builds competitiveness and grows a high performance culture.

Look at GWS. Whitfield Kelly and Scully have all played outside. Can’t have enough runners and competition for spots.
There’s no doubt in some cases it can.

If we brought in Polec, I see it having the same effect on LOB as Alex Silvagni has had on JGM.

JGM was tracking decently in his first year playing on the last line of defence in the VFL, just as LOB is working into his role nicely now. Rather than back JGM in, we brought in Alex Silvagni (who also plays last line of defence) to take JGM’s spot in the VFL and this pushes JGM out to a half back flank where he looks lost. JGM then has some bad luck, copping a hit going back couragesly that breaks his jaw and hamstring strains and is now playing at a lower level than he was in his rookie year. I don’t want us to repeat the same mistakes and think we should back our own guy in whose tracking nicely, rather than bring in Polec to play LOB’s role and have LOB doing what Polson is doing now (shoehorned into some other role than isn’t his strength).

Jgm’s struggles has nothing to do with ASOS, who spent most of this year injured anyway. JGM simply isn’t up to it. L’ob is quality and already miles better than JGM. It’s not an apt analogy.

Damo on MMM regarding Wallis just then, apparently he wants to stay at the Dogs, it is more the Dogs being uncertain about keeping him (will get compo if he leaves)

Essendon only want Wallis as a backup plan if they fail to get Shiel. Didn’t mention us at all.
