I don’t post much, but I thought I would share this information with you. I played golf this morning at Huntingdale and spoke to a few regulars who are involved with the board at both Essendon and Hawthorn. Here’s what I was told:

Polec to North Melbourne is 100% done for $750,000 over 5 years.

Essendon has met with Gaff at least 3 times in the last month. Essendon people believe they are front runners.

Carlton is offering $150,000 more per year than both Essendon and Hawthorn for Dylan Shiel. His manager has met with SOS. We are definitely leading the race if GWS decide to off load him this season.

If there is any truth to the rumour about Nick Riewoldt a possibility to join the coaching ranks,I will be shitty.

We can do much better as a club that is trying to grow a good culture than grab him. Success breeds success and he ain't had any + from what I know of him doesn't strike me as a nice bloke. IMO

Anyone seen Cerra actually get the ball? Whenever I watch Freo it takes me 15 minutes to find him. Certainly not keen on Cerra and 6 for 1. Especially since 6 will be a King which we dont need. #teamwalsh

Had a few class moments first quarter, haven't watched the second quarter much. Dow only gets the ball 10-15 times a match, Cerra is similar. First year players shouldn't really be judged on how many touches

So we potentially have Shiel, Setterfield, Wallis, McGovern coming.
Who goes to free up some list space?
Plus potentially fasolo, Plus 2 state league players????, plus we have to make a minimum of 3 picks in national draft, plus if the rumors are correct we are into other players not listed. Cant see how we consolidate our list with minimal changes (as has been mentioned by bolton and silvagni) and do all the above.

Thanks mate.

Wow that's a huge offer for Polec...don't blame him for taking it.
I think he's a good player, but that's a big contract over 5 years.

Definitely wouldn't be surprised to see Essendon land Gaff...interesting they are in the running for an A grader though after the 3 they got last year.

Also interesting to see us with the highest offer given SOS has been notoriously tight...do you know what the actual number is? $750k? Looks like we recognise the time is now to get a gun like Shiel. Need to help our kids and start winning. Another poor season next year and jobs could be on the line.

Listening to his commentary I don't think he's that intelligent. I would prefer Sam Mitchell(now there's someone who knows what success is) I might be totally wrong here Ftr, that's why I'm throwing my opinion out there to see if any one agrees/disagrees.

I think there is a fair chance he is not very intelligent and of dubious character. Agree with you here BAT.
