I don't think so. Korchek is outside the system, so he doesn't really count.

Wood may be gone next year as he hasn't the tank to get around the ground as required.
I think it's very wise as well.
Rather than draft one let the 4 (plus the project) fight it out while we are rebuilding. Every chance one or two will end up being good enough.

I note that all of them are not just tall but BIG.

"Carlton will welcome former top ten pick Daniel Gorringe to the club after signing him as a delisted free agent today, according to SEN's Brett Anderson. "
Wasn't impressed with how he handled the Port situation - small sample size perhaps but didn't project as the type of character you think we'd be wanting.

He had the same situation Jacobs did at Carlton, he was third in line behind Nicholls and Smith. He wanted game time. I cant blame him for that.

Prefer Wright to Gorringe.

But I like runners who can kick goals over KPP/Ruck who *might* be exceptional.

Maybe because at least the runner is likely to do something for you
To be honest, I'm still struggling to see where Gorringe would fit in to our team.

Is he a ruck? We already have Kruez, Wood, and Phillips with Casboult and Rowe who both can pinch hit. We have Korchek on the list too as a project. From what I've seen and read he doesn't do to well in the ruck.

Is he a KP forward? This would make more sense but how would we structure up? When we already have Casboult, is having two players in our forward half who are 200cm really the way to go? Unless he is agile and mobile enough to play CHF. From what i hear he is a great athlete. If true I hope we get him to study Nick Reiwoldt and have him running his arse off up to the wings and doubling back again.

If we do play him in that role who plays second ruck? Do we also bring in Wood or Phillips? Would then having Kruez, 2nd Ruck, Gorringe, and Casboult in the one team be too top heavy? Or doesn't it matter with Gorringe as he is agile enough?

I hope we are not just signing a bloke to play Reserves.

It does fill a gap in our list.......now if SOS can find a player whose name rhymes with 'purple'.
SOS himself, bowlegged, used to run with an awkward gait.

Jack Hirple, father/son? :p

hirple ‎(third-person singular simple present hirples, present participle hirpling, simple past and past participle hirpled)

(intransitive, Scotland, northern Britain) to walk with a limp, to drag a limb, to walk lamely; to move with a gait somewhere between walking and crawling.

Yes, yes, yes, yes, YES. - Just wait people. Give the bloke a chance. Think a taller version of 1AW. Super versatile. Will play like Blicavs at Geelong. Ruck rover type role who can push forward but run all day and run quick. Just needs the opportunity.

No, steer clear of anybody named Hirple.

hirple
ˈhəːp(ə)l/
verb
ScottishNorthern English
verb: hirple; 3rd person present: hirples; past tense: hirpled; past participle: hirpled; gerund or present participle: hirpling
  1. walk with a limp; hobble.
"Donald hirpled out to greet him"

At least we'd be able to elevate a rookie I guess.

Ahh FFS.... how am i meant to come up with some Gorringe puns!!
Gorringe is not without appeal.

Bolton rips into Gorringe at quarter time.

Gorringe just the tonic.

Acid test on Gorringe.

Cringle/Watson = Sheephead/Gorringe.

Considering we had high hopes of gaining Tomlinson in the trade period, perhaps we had role in mind that was to be filled and Gorringe is a potential target to play there (CHF).

Think White may also be in this line of thinking too up forward FF/CHF with Levi.

If we have White playing forward for protracted periods of time next year................it's just not going to be fun.

Have to get the younger guys up and running.....Jaksch, even Foster.

i dont see an issue with signing gorringe. what do we lose? not costing a draft pick. 200cm athletic player with talent. if we can get the best out of him he could be a very good player. the times ive seen him he looks more a mobile athletic player than a physical one. needs to use his pace and endurance. could easily play a role like blicavs/stanley at geelong. i could see bolton using him with kruezer & casboult through the ruck and forward line. mobile forward line with jaksch & everitt. bit like hawthorn. could well be a great addition.
