.....and I sure as heck aint going through Krooz, to Murph, to Gibbs......who bombs it across his body and hopes for the best.
I reckon that's something that was coached into him. It wasn't a part of his game for ages until he went into the midfield effectively full time under Malthouse. If Bolton has him playing more of an outside mid role, we will see the best of him. He is supposedly running like a boss at the moment, so I hope that's the plan.

I think Liam Jones got in his ear and said buddy I'm running red hot just bomb it long and I'll do the rest ala Wayne Carey style.

Doc is doing fine as the general down back.

What we are screaming out for is run through the middle, and granted we drafted only 223cms or thereabouts...........it's time for Dylan to go into the guts.

Krooz, Cripps, MM, Dyl Bucks.............like the sound of that.:thumbsu::thumbsu:

Hiya all. There has already been a rumour mentioned for a return from Brett Ratten in 2017 to Ikon Park, but the latest development through a 'not so' reliable source is that Scott Camporeale may be joining him as well.

Both will act as senior assistants to Brendon in 2017 bringing the coaching list to:
Head of Football - Andrew McKay
Senior Coach -Brendon Bolton
Director of Coaching, Development and Performance - Neil Craig
Assistant Coach (Stoppages) - John Barker *May move into a more around the ground role
Assistant Coach (Stoppages) - Brett Ratten
Assistant Coach (Forward) - Shane Watson
Assistant Coach (Midfield) - Scott Camporeale
Assistant Coach (Midfield) - Tim Clarke *May move into more a development role like at Richmond
Assistant Coach (Backline) - Dale Amos
Assistant Coach (Development/Ruck Specialist) - Mathew Capuano
VFL & Development Coach - Josh Fraser

List Management & Strategy - Stephen Silvagni

I don't know what the limit on coaching staff is or if there even is one but I would love to see these boys all back working together at the club!

Mixed feelings about the possibility of Ratten & Camporeale returning to the club in a coaching capacity.

Both of them are obviously champions of the club on the field but a part of me can't help but feel uneasy that we may be slipping back into old habits. We'd have a fair few ex-players holding positions of significant influence - at what point do we start to question whether they are there because they are the best available, or for some other reason?

Having said that I do acknowledge the success both Ratten and Camporeale have had in the coaching box. Both have shown themselves to be very capable assistants, at the very least.

It wouldn't bother me if Ratten & Camporeale and were enticed back to the club, as for now it would be driven by Bolton.

Some of the previous (even recently previous) appointments did smack of getting Carlton people first............best people second.

I completely understand and agree on you concern regarding ex players who have been appointed in the past. Like you have added though both have proven themselves in the assistant roles. As long as they were picked in the fashion of the right fit then I would welcome them both with open arms.
I do believe ex players do also bring a bit to the club in regards of passion and honour of wearing the Navy Blue

Yeh nah dunno

Why do we have to have a whole lot of ex carlton people... is Bolton happy with this?

Ratts I can understand, he and Bolton worked together at Hawthorn...And the emotion attached to Ratts

Anyway rumours are just rumours

Wouldn't be surprised if Nick Graham was at another club in 2017 (based mainly on a gut feeling, rather then anything I heard).

If we could maybe get an early-mid 2nd round pick for him, I'm happy to deal, don't feel like there is limitations to his game. Can't ever see him becoming an elite player.

After the breakout year he has in 2016, it will be a first rounder.

Is anybody seriously discussing trading any of our players at this present time ??. We have a season about to start give the players that need a big season a chance to show what they can do this year players like Gibbs jaeksch and so many of our players coming off injury interrupted years . I would of thought that our full support at this time would be more appropriate than trade talk already !!
Are people seriously discussing trading Buckley?!?!

I don't think there is any doubt about that, but we can't be using that as the reason to bring them back in an official capacity.

Also not sure how much weight it holds in the eyes of players in this day and age, where moving from club to club is easy and frequent. Back in the old days players were loyal and genuinely displayed a love for the jumper - these days players who remain loyal throughout are few and far between. More and more football is becoming 'a job' rather than a genuine passion.
