It's a shit attitude to knock anyone that genuinely tries their best as was the case with players such as Cachia, Watson, Ellard etc in recent years.

Not sure Jones is quite in that department just yet but he's not quite as lazy as quite a few players we've had in more recent times.
I think questioning the commitment or effort of a player is one thing. Discussing their strengths and weaknesses is what all supporters do. But the Mocking, belittling and, in some cases, the abuse that's hurled at these guys is out of line.
I think we sometimes forget they're people, not robots.
I coach my own son (he's 20, but still my son), so as a coach I'm required to keep my emotions in check. But if I was standing in the outer, I have no doubt I'd be in a dozen blews a season. Some of the name calling and abuse that comes over the fence at these young men is obscene. My own club are no saints when it comes to this. I've mentioned it to them, but it falls on deaf ears.
I would hate to think what some players (and officials) would think if they read some of the stuff that's said about them on (un)social media.

We know that Russell used to read Big Footy... someone posted a picture of him with his computer in the background and it showed BF in his browser.

No wonder he had confidence issues for pretty much his entire career. Just imagine logging into BF after playing your heart out and being one of the best on ground and seeing some of the numpties of the day absolutely ripping him apart for a minor mistake he might have made during the game!

He voiced an opinion, I'm not sure that really warrants a chorus of whinging.

This person has form. I haven't been posting much lately but literally the first 5 posts I skim read in this thread are Nostradamus style predictions about trades from DVB

Has anything he said ever been proven correct? I doubt it

We have 22 games (plus finals ) to evaluate Nick and the rest of the boys

I'm not sure how people could knock the types of Ellard or Cachia as those blokes tried their butts off on the field and I give them types of players all my support. One of my favorite past players was Simon Wiggins just because he gave everything he had. Wasn't super quick or tall but he could mark a ball and tackle like a crazy man and did the 1% that coaches and supporters should all love.
I just get annoyed at the Watson & Jones types when they drop their heads and look like they don't really wanna be out there and when you see them running laps at training they just don't seem to give a ****.
I guess all I wanna see is blokes trying and I'll talk them up on BF, work, at home and the pub.
Rant Over!

Correct... in the lead up to the trade period, DVB was spouting rumours left right and centre all based on what certified nuffies in the media were spouting. He came across as trying to say that they were legit rumours. And not one of those rumours came to fruition.

Nick Graham has this year to cement his place in the side as a second inside mid working with Cripps, Gibbs, and Murphy to win the clearance battles. He will be assessed at the end of the season and if found wanting, he will be given an exit interview and a trade to another club will be arranged if possible.

Personally, I think that he will nail down a spot in the 22 and continue to improve over the next couple of seasons before dropping away and becoming depth at the club.

So his strike rate is comparable to many others on here who seem to skate by without the needlessly antagonistic replies.
He's negative - there are also others who are overly optimistic - both groups are entitled to their views.
Hopefully Graham (and others) can come out this season and put their value beyond doubt, this I'm sure that all of us as Blues fans can agree on.

Tons of players read BigFooty. My cousin was the media manager at Collingwood and said they were constantly telling players not to read stuff about them on Twitter, BigFooty ,Facebook etc.

They had full time staff that read BigFooty and other social media to pick up trends in their supporter base and would discuss it in meetings.

Graham just didn't get a proper go under MM in the senior side starting sub most of the time. He and Bell were killing it in the VFL side he just needs a good crack this year and he'll be definitely fixed in the best 22. He is a hard nut in the guts and can kick goals we need more guys like him IMO

It will be an absolute PR disaster for the club if Carlisle picks St Kilda over us, even more than Hendo leaving with a month to go in the H and A season.
I am certain we will get we will get band 1 compo for Kreuzer, the only fly in the ointment is the Brisbane situation.
If I was Geelong, I wouldn't give up their first rounder for Hendo either, he is out of contract, they have us by the short and curlys.

It most likely will be Josh Walker and a 2nd rounder for Hendo. Not much we can do about that unfortunately.
Bassett is Port Adelaide bound, unless Essendon give Hird the flick, he would take over as Dons coach.

Probably the kick up the @ss they needed, prior to this Murph and Gibbs probably dictated terms to the club with little resistance... remember Bryce demanding to know our direction before signing... Now all of a sudden the club has the power and they need to get into line or leave.

DaVillaBlues:
I can categorically tell you one of those two players won't be at Carlton (even with a new coach) next year ..

Are you paid per kill? I don't think DVB's bounty was that high.
