^^^^^^^

Thoroughly researched first post.

and I just wanted to type thoroughly again...............it's the Mozart word to type. Was part of the News Ltd test......and just went all Elton on it, fingers everywhere.

Throughout............that's the maestro one, give it a try kids.

Will see myself out.
Stiggy, speaking of the great artists of time...

You have really outdone yourself. This is a masterpiece.

English is my first language. I understand the meaning of each of those words in your post.

But put them together.... And.... I can't even.

I'm not sure if I am supposed to play your post backwards or grab a plastic bottle, make a few adjustments and turn it into 'paraphernalia'...

It will be an absolute PR disaster for the club if Carlisle picks St Kilda over us, even more than Hendo leaving with a month to go in the H and A season.

I am certain we will get we will get band 1 compo for Kreuzer, the only fly in the ointment is the Brisbane situation.

If I was Geelong, I wouldn't give up their first rounder for Hendo either, he is out of contract, they have us by the short and curlys.

It most likely will be Josh Walker and a 2nd rounder for Hendo. Not much we can do about that unfortunately.

Bassett is Port Adelaide bound, unless Essendon give Hird the flick, he would take over as Dons coach.
But my favourite, can't quote as thread is closed;

Probably the kick up the @ss they needed, prior to this Murph and Gibbs probably dictated terms to the club with little resistance... remember Bryce demanding to know our direction before signing... Now all of a sudden the club has the power and they need to get into line or leave.

I can categorically tell you one of those two players won't be at Carlton (even with a new coach) next year ..

Tons of players read BigFooty. My cousin was the media manager at Collingwood and said they were constantly telling players not to read stuff about them on Twitter, BigFooty ,Facebook etc.

They had full time staff that read BigFooty and other social media to pick up trends in their supporter base and would discuss it in meetings.
Makes sense. I've heard presenters on SEN a number of times mention Big Footy and how harsh it can be at times.

There are several that use BF as a resource.
Couldn't count just how many times I've seen ideas/reports lifted directly from this board alone and to be fair............why not as long as they know where to look and not start quoting the wrong people.

Whilst some of the ideas on here over the years have been very good, that is very lazy from the journo's who lift these ideas from other people.

Graham just didn't get a proper go under MM in the senior side starting sub most of the time. He and Bell were killing it in the VFL side he just needs a good crack this year and he'll be definitely fixed in the best 22. He is a hard nut in the guts and can kick goals we need more guys like him IMO
This one keeps popping up every now and then, but it was clearly stated by Mick and Nick, that there were things that Mick wanted him to work on (I think it was defensive pressure, running both ways and hitting the scoreboard). Low and behold, when he finally made it into the side, he applied all of those things to his game. Everybody then goes 'stoopid Mick, look how good he is'. I have no doubt that Nick could have held a spot in the side prior to that, but it's debatable whether Nick would have shown those other attributes if Mick had given him a full crack earlier.
Nick seemed to understand (didn't have to like it) the reasons and worked on changing it.

Fair comment. But then Mick gifts early games to an unfit, unready Clem. I'm glad I don't have to try and rationalize whatever the hell Mick was trying to do anymore.

I don't claim to have all the answers, but he must have had a reason for it. Perhaps he showed enough in training (can't remember how he went in NAB) to make Mick think that he might have been a surprise package, but it just didn't turn out that way.

Couple of things -

So i got a few predictions wrong (based on twitter info etc) So what ? Hardly a sin, plus i did actually post that Nathan Bassett was going to Port as an assistant months before it happened (to that smart ass troll quoting 19th century posts from me)

Secondly, People have been twisting/distorting my opinions on Nick Graham, i might have clumsily worded it, but i never bagged the bloke or suggested trading him, i simply ventured an opinion based on intuition that SOS and the club may look to trade him if they want another good draft pick(s) in next year's draft, or as a means as part of a deal to get someone like Tomlinson from GWS.

Unless we get an outrageous offer, I don't think we'll be trading our first or second round picks this year, in a strong, deep draft from all accounts, and going by SOS's record, he will want to acquire more draft picks, and i think Graham, as an yet to be established best 22 player with some currency, could possibly be used as a trade. I don't see the need for some to carry on like I've just shot Bambi, I was speculating on what MIGHT happen, not what I WANT to happen RE Graham.

Maybe I've been following US Sports too long, but for a rebuilding club like us, we got to consider our players as Shares/Assets in a stock market, and the buy low/sell high approach into trading, say Graham (or someone else drafted somewhat late in the draft) for a second round pick, would be tempting for SOS, I would imagine.

I recently saw Draft Day, and I'm now getting delusions of being Kevin Costner :D (it was a movie about the NFL Draft and some of the ballsy and controversial moves Costner as Cleveland Browns GM made)

Finally, and i said this months ago, people have to start being less attached/emotionally invested in players, can't help but feel that player/club loyalty (and vice versa) is going the way of the dodo, and as the Troy Menzel trade proved, just about anyone, including fan favourites, can and will be traded if SOS and the club deem it necessary.

And haven't some suggested we should have traded Mitch Robinson back in 2012, when he did have some (relative) currency ?

This is the way modern footy works (esp after the introduction of free agency) and i don't like it, but I passionately believe the club needs to continue to be proactive and keep making list management decisions that will help us in the long term, for when our next premiership window opens.

I don't want to speak for everyone, but I feel the biggest problem is not just that your posts seem wildly speculative, but that you are now talking about potential Oct/Nov deals in Feb, before the season has even started. It's one thing to speculate on what players we might look at bringing in or what draft picks we might trade in or out, but effectively shipping off a bloke that's done nothing wrong, is young and is pushing to be a permanent part of the team (and yes people seem to like him too), is rubbing people up the wrong way.
A conversation like that might be better placed halfway through or towards the end of the season, when the player and the club have a bit of exposed form and our needs are more apparent. Until then, it seems to be talking for the sake of talking (no offense intended - I know that describes most posts on BF, especially off season).
