Oh no it's 100% fact. I wrote up the player contracts myself.

I also have deep contacts within the AFL drug testing unit, the Kangaroos recruiting department, and the Weagles sports science program.
I wondered if that figure had been bandied about in the media enough to be close to the mark. Maybe not.

Accurate. Brilliant. Unlikely.

Western Bulldogs
Graham become genuine starter playing inside mid, Boekhurst gets fit and lifts to A grade running mid status, Casboult learns to kick and hasn't lost his jump off both legs, Jacksh slots into team and development accelerates and becomes a genuine top 10 type KPP pick, Harry Mc becomes a rare gun after one full pre-season and Charlie Curnow becomes the beast we need to play alongside Cripps - whilst Cuningham and Vojo click, Sheehan bursts on to scene over next year and that big fella we picked up playing VFL develops into teh KPP defender we need to take on gorillas.

ie it will all take time and a lot of luck and even then....
And Tutt. You forgot Tutt...

Im hoping this years third for Tomlinson
Next years second for Marchbank
Trading for a few third rounders (Everitt, Buckley,White, Thomas)
Doing some sort of package to get Will Hoskin Elliott
As in Dale Thomas? Personally, I can't see him leaving by choice and he really does provide leadership both on and off-field. Plus he is finally finding form after a torrid run with injuries. I think that he will stay a Carlton player for the rest of his career - just maybe at a reduced rate.

GWS players that missed their impressive win against the Dogs on the weekend include:

Ahern
Corr
Davis
Griffen
Haynes
Hoskin-Elliott
Marchbank
McCarthy
Pickett
Smith
Tomlinson
Kennedy
Stewart

They just have a stupid amount of talent...any one of those players would walk straight into our best 22.

That list is good enough to make up half a best 22 side and be a very good team.
Got plenty of KPDs, KPFs and mids in that group.
I'd be happy with a few off this list for **** all, I'm sure SOS has a few gameplans to steal a few more little diamonds in the NEAFL

Reckon we'd have to come up with a bit more than that Dane .
Other club's will have their hats in the ring for these blokes too .
Our main chance is of course if the players nominate Carlton but even then we'd still have to pay a fair price .

How is it a big call?

I'm just repeating what's been said in the media and on this forum. Everyone knows he was overpaid.

Good for him btw. I wish I was being overpaid.
$500k just seems way over the mark. He hadn't done that much at Sydney. Even $350k would have been overpaying.

350 is about the average wage for an AFL player. GWS at the time had plenty of cash under the cap available and were keen to get players signing up with them. Lamb was also traded to us on the cheap because we were the only club interested that had the cap room to take in his contract. 500k seems about right to me.

Who would we prefer Marchbank or Tomlinson if we could only manage to secure one of them?

My understanding is Tomlinson probably fills more of a role we are weak in however Marchbank might have more upside?

You'd have to say Marchbank if the cost was the same. But he'll have a higher asking price. Could cost a high first rounder for both.
