Does anyone suspect as I do that the recent comments by Malthouse with regards to the Club's rebuilding may have come after he was unofficially/officially told by the hierarchy that he would definitely not be at Carlton next year?

It would stand to reason that any employee waiting to discover if they were getting a new contract would not publicly contradict their employer.

I think you'll find that Mick was the one who said the 'list' was/is poor and started the turnover long before the word 'rebuild' was used by our 'new' president...!

Mick was just more subtle...!

Totally Agree!
I wonder if the team selection policy also reflects a pissed off (soon to be ex) employee making Whopee!
The whole club is looking a shambles with MM public statements undermined by a total lack of enthusiasm from the team.
This season is a write off and the Board clearly do not want to pay-out MM (yet). He may force their hand.

I call this bullshit. I know personally that some of the senior players play golf together. I know personally that some of the newbies play golf , hangout and talk shit together.

In my opinion the club is a business, dont really need friends..we need leaders who can be bloody professional on and off the field.
I know for a fact that the entire group of the Dogs team are best mates. Their young players are practically inseparable.

I've seen it at local and professional level and there really is nothing better than watching a group of young guys play for each other.

I've never seen this from our guys.

I did see Cripps, Bucks, Byrne and Giles all together at a VFL game at Sandringham a few weeks ago.

Very harsh on Malthouse there. He is committed to the club for the tenure of his contract, whether or not he will be there next year, which I think is commendable and makes it easy for the Club to plan ahead one way or another.

Also didnt Thomas, Murphy and Gibbs all go overseas together in the offseason?

Murphy: "Oh Bryce, we simply must go overseas at year's end, I tire of mingling amongst these peasants."
Gibbs: *cups manbun* "Indeed Marc, did you hear some of them make less than $400,000 a year? It's most uncouth."
Thomas: "How utterly revolting! It is most unbecoming of us to associate with such ruffians. Begin making travel plans forthwith!"
