Yep. Complete Duck Eggs from Scoop. My apologies for getting everyone excited. He is a Carlton supporter so obviously could confirm his story.

Both Byrne and Sheehan were there in the handball drills along Whiley, Walsh, Fields, Smith and Rowe.

For what it's worth Warnock is an ar$e, didn't involve himself with any of the kids even if he had one arm in a sling. It would have been the only contest he might have had half a chance.
Also strutting around with the shades on and had a CBF attitude about him. Must hace missed the irish boys when autograpgh hunting. Other 2 def. missing.
cheers.

If Doc is injured with OP. Rest him up get him ready for next year. Not like we are challenging, no point pushing through it and stuffing his groins up like west coast did to Judd.

Is it time to give Menzel his proper knee re-co ?

12 months so he'd back and available by this time next with 10 games to get ready for the finals.:)

Does Menzel need a proper knee re-co? I heard there was talk he might need one down the track. But if its not busted, no point putting him to surgery. Traditional knee re-cos dont always have a 100% success rate.

Received a little inside info today and it's the first time I've heard of it... From the same source that told me Judd would be at carlton mid the year before has said Carlisle is a lock at carlton... Might be pissing in mi pocket this time though, not nearly as excited this time!!
I wonder if we are into the idea of getting Carlisle to replace Hendo in case he chooses to leave.

Really don't understand all the emphatic 'no to Carlisle' I'm seeing...is as close to a Hendo replacement as you can get. AA type defender, handy key forward. His goal kicking is not as good as Hendos but i reckon he is a better mark. Is also young.

WADA aside, why wouldn't we want him? I want Hendo to stay, but if he leaves who replaces him...Jones? It would set us back a few years.
Carlisle is a great replacement.

Only issue with Carlisle is that you wouldn't be able to hope/pray that essendon get suspensions.

Essendon losing every game by 200 or us having a decent CFB?

The choice is easy for me, considering 75% of my friends go for Essendon. I'd prefer to see them sad than me happy, sad but brutally true.

Us taking Carlisle might depend on when WADA sets its tribunal date. If he looks likely to be suspended - then he will return in 2 years time - which would mean he would be a free agent as he would have been on their list for 8 years.

Why would we give something up for a guy who we could take as a FA in 2 years time, when he would be ineligible to play in the interim anyway. Not to mention that suspended players on Essendon*s list may become delisted free agents after the ban as a way of mitigiating players lawsuits against Essendon*.

Don't get me wrong - he's a good player and would be in our best 22. But us taking him really depends on how much we have to give up balanced with the likelyhood of player suspensions.

Surely we wouldn't we looking at Carlisle until we know the result of the WADA appeal. We couldn't be that naive surely.
Of course we should be looking. Other clubs are already circling. We can look without offering anything but it doesn't hurt us to let him know we might be interested depending on how things work out.

I just can't see anyone going through with suspending a team for two years. Not a 'professional' sports team. Will be interesting to see though.

If he is not going to be suspended, I am certainly in the camp of getting him. I do like the idea of getting him in his prime for free though. Maybe we are just pissing in his pocket now so he is keen to come across at the end of a potential suspension.

As I said though, I just cannot see it happening. As much as I would like swim in bummer tears...
