Fair call. If we traded draft picks for Dylan @22/23yr would you see that as quick fix?

A first and second rounder at #10 and #28 ... good deal. However Shiel is probably worth a top 5 pick and GWS might want that first rounder and a player so I'd need to know what the deal is.

I'm saying that Dangerfield on $300k more, a few years older but keeping that first rounder, is not necessarily worse than getting Shiel and giving up that pick.

It will all depend on those financial terms and potential trades.

Yeah I can see someone offering up a top 5 pick for him. I guess we really have to see how we go this year to see if it's the right fit for us to get danger or look at other options. It is attractive though the thought of not having to give up anything besides cap space.
Next year looks like a year that you might really be better off holding on to draft picks as it is looks like it may be a deeper more talented draft then this year. I know they say that every year

Given the amount of pull whoever our guy in WA seems to have look out for Callum AhChee Kade Stewart and Greg Clarke all highly rated.

Aren't these guys all rated draft candidates for next year? What does the pull of our WA scout have to do with them?

That they are. Given the influence he seems to have it might be interesting to see how they and other WA players go this year.

Are you suggesting getting some WA players to play dead to lower their draft pick? Doubt he has that much pull.

No I wish lol. More that wherever our first rounder might be I won't be at all surprised if a WA players name is called out. It wouldn't bother me there been some great top end talent coming out of WA thats gone under the radar a little and I love what I've seen of Cripps in both VFL/AFL so far.

Oh got you. The WA guy has pull with the club so we keep recruiting WA kids with first rounders. Rogers did work with Freo so I guess the trust factor over there is high. You'd hope we'd be more objective though.

Yeah those first rounders from WA lately have been great Kane Lucas, Bootsma etc.. Maybe sack that guy

I guess Hughes takes the bullet for the Lucas over Talia call. Damed Melbourne there drafting sucks so bad it stuffs other clubs up lol if only they had taken the highly rated slider instead of reaching then surly we would have taken Talia like we should have.

Rogers has a different idea when it comes to drafting. Hughes would always take the best available regardless of weather they fitted into our team/game plan which of course now we can see is a flawed concept. Rogers has a very pacific best player for Carlton approach which makes a lot more sense but only time will tell if it is more successful.

He wins a tin gong and now I'm a witch.........small grape here.........

He might be a good poster but when it comes to knowing the time difference between Victoria and South Australia .... zero votes.

I have my doubts ...

Do you think it's that said particular recruiter that has a lot of influence or that our whole recruiting team is bigger and maybe look closer in WA? I know some scouting is done by supporters and we seem to have a large supporter base over in WA.

You're from SA right?

Time stamping might be shown as local time for the viewer.

As at 8:13am AEST, I have found that time is stamped by the time the viewers clock

On another note. .. i am glad this nonsense isnt in the bona fide rumour thread.

I dont know how i still look young and handsome after all the stress trying to find real rumours in the old thread.
