No one remembers or cares who finishes last, couldn't care less about it TBH it's just an obscure record for the history books. However, people do remember who wins the flag. We've won 16, this is where we build the side to win 17 and stand alone, on top of the rest.

We'd be mad to not give ourselves a chance of having the future AA CHF and CHB at the expense of a 26 year old ruck who's had a history of foot injuries.

Opportunity if fleeting. Our opportunity right now is enormous but without aggression will pas us bye. We aren't a complete basket case. We have a base. We have a potential multiple Brownlow medalist in the middle and a few others to build upon. We have father sons coming through. We have early draft picks coming our way. We have trade ammo. We have the potential to build a young group to grow with our new coach.

Lets take picks 1, 2, Geelong's first, 19, (maybe others from trades) and who ever we want in the PSD as well as Silvagni and Rice and grow our own. This could be one of the best drafts a footy side has ever had. We've just got to have a go!
**** YEAH!

Finishing last gives you HUGE bargaining power... The threat of pick 1 in the PSD will get you a really good deal with a trade... Kruezer can get you pick2.... and Yarran will get you another first rounder... probably high teens. You can then get Carlise cheap... or throw a deal for Treloar. You'll walk away from the trade and drafts with a huge influx of quality talent.
You really should do the slow rebuild over the next 2-3 years... getting a few more quality kids with top ten picks. And when you are about ready then go the Free agency option to top up. But potentially if you nail this trade period then you wont be too far away IMO.

Cant see Kreuzer's past injuries being a factor in terms of what compensation we get when the AFL obviously did not take into account Dale Thomas's injury history before determining that we would get nothing for losing Betts and receiving him.

Unless we REALLY rate Schache over whoever we would have taken at #3
I don't understand why anyone wouldn't rate Schache. I mean I haven't seen him or Weitering play mind you. :$

I do like Everitt and Levi, But for crying out loud, Fev left 6 years ago and we still haven't unearthed a decent forward line.

St Kilda were brave enough to select Paddy after 'the experts' had a thing for Petracca. Key forwards come along once in a blue moon.

Should we give them a call and tell them we've locked them in... So just go easy on each other as we need them healthy for pre-season? The kid who listens best gets picked at one giving them the NAB cash that the pick one gets... :p

We'll get band one if be decides to leave.
I think the scenario would be that we wouldnt match an offer if it got us band one compo. Just like offering Hendo unders. As far as I'm concerned, the club alone will be responsible for off-season list changes.

Reckon SOS is well aware that if Kreuz leaves, we ll get Band 1.
I think the same.
Happy to go to the draft and take:
Pick 1 - Weitering
Pick 2 - Schache
and these picks aren't a lock:
Pick 9 Geelong (Hendo)
Pick 14 Adelaide (Menzel)
Pick 15 Richmond (Yarran)
Aish for Bell
Carlisle PSD

This would be a great start to this so called rebuild

What would Stefan Martin cost ??

Bell and what.....
Love him, but would prefer we didn't give up much for players that wont be around in 3 years.
Our rebuild should be the main focus from here on.
Would prefer a guy thats not getting a game at another club that we can get on the cheap

Will be exciting reading once we can get names beside picks 9, 14 & 15 etc.

What if Richmond get bundled out next week does 15 become 12 or 13 ??

He's scum because he has been tainted there.
Good player, if not a gun. Just needs to get out of that tip called Essendon
I actually find him highly over rated 1 good season in the back line (was a good season) won't sustain his 'high' output forward I don't think and seems to be a bit of a whinger

If Richmond win the flag 15 becomes 18-19ish and we have to live with them winning a flag

It sure will.
I really think they will take Yarran with their first.
They are crying out for a small flashy forward and I think they will play him there

Agree, didnt realise his age, get a cheapie and we can upgrade via FA when the time is right if needed.

Need to use a late or rookie pick to start developing a young one also.

I rate him but imagine being at Essendon for those years. He needs out.
