Im of the opinion that we draft the best players possible. All the 4 picks we get the best possible. When we make a charge up the ladder use free agency/trades to target players to fill holes

Or they were more than happy to offload their fringe players but when it came to someone decent no thanks
If these GWS fringe boys hadnt been taken in compromised drafts, they would all be playing first 22 at various AFL clubs around the country.

Because GWS were allowed to have like 50 players and 10 rookies while they were setting up shop, they snaffled a shitload of quality players that would have gone to other clubs. And now... we are reaping SOS's knowledge of their list to pry loose some of the good ones.

Being starved of opportunity would have hampered their progress, but physically they will have bulked up which means they are ready to go round 1...if good enough.

Wouldn't mind seeing 1AW up forward too.
Will be interesting to see how 1AW goes next year. There was a fair degree of speculation as to whether issues with his knees would enable him to play on.

Rowe? Come on, that guy will be delisted or traded for a nothing pick if not next year, the year after.

We can and will develop forwards. Like I said Jack Silvagni, there's a lot of up side there, I think Levi is going to get better, Jaksch is quite young and has some potential, I've got some confidence that Bolton is going to get the best out of him.

But imo, our priority should definitely be to sort out the back line and the midfield first. Back line this year with a start to the midfield, and then next year complete the midfield.
I think you might be a little harsh on Rowey, when he's in form he does the job that's needed and I think he also could benefit from a new coaching department... I'm only saying improve the fwd line now is because I personally think it's our weakest position on the ground, we definitely still need some big boys down back but we've got more talent down there the guys up the other side of the ground... Just my opinion I guess!

Probably Walker's last season, may even be a guy who gets games when there is injuries, guys like Everitt probably pass him now. Will probably play forward. When your his age and struggling to get on the park things don't look good, will he even be on our list come 2016? Rowe will fill in when needed, he's not great, really poor hands and skills in general but will help out and fill a role which will come up regularly.

Would Phillips be good enough to play next season? Gives Kreuzer time up forward as well.
2 rucks a must.

Reduced interchange will ensure everyone is on the field longer.

He just has to be better than Wood and Warnock. Haven't seen enough but looks likely.

Hard to imagine he's a worse overhead mark than Warnock. So just Wood in his way.

Probably only missed there because of the bench being cut to 3, Mumford etc and perhaps being a little light on. If his highlights are anything to go on he definitely comes into our side. Looks a good mover, taking overhead and contested marks, nice kicking and very tall with a big leap. I think he and Kreuzer could rotate through the forward line. Leave Casboult at home up forward.

Valid, but I reckon we will be a bit more selective than that. Probably target a select few with the first couple of picks and then, barring a slider, its best two left with 11 and 19

Warnock is enough. Then its Kreuzer and Wood/Phillips with Korchek as the project.
Competition for rookie spots is tight this year. If Kreuzer's foot is okay and Phillips is given time to shine, I wouldn't expect Wood to be required.

Only If there's a kid available at 60 (Pittonet went at 50 last year) that SOS likes, I wouldn't pass up a ruck yet another year. It has been 8 years since we went to the draft and Kreuzer is now 26 1/2.

Don't be surprised if Phillips is better in every aspect than Warnock. Looks more athletic than Wood and maybe a better kick. Actually reminded me a lot of Jacobs in the footage of him but more athletic. Could be a steal.
Thats the impression that I got on Phillips based on the limited footage there is of him.

SOS knows these guys and he handpicked them to fill roles in our side.

Heard on SEN today that Tom Boyd will be earning 1.5 Million Dollarydoos next season at The Dogs

That sums up all that's wrong with modern footy..

Yep, you're missing the guys you've conveniently chosen to ignore.

IN:
8, 11, 19, 59, Plowman, Sumner, Kerridge, Lamb, Phillips

OUT:
Henderson, Yarran, Menzel, Bell, 20, 40

Plus pick 1 and pick 60 that we essentially retained throughout the whole thing.
Also an upgrade in 2016 draft with dogs giving us their 3rd for our 4th, if I heard correctly :)

So currently as it stands:

Picks: 1,8,11,19,59,60

Weitering, Weideman, Milera, Collins, SOSOS (on guide form only except SOSOS F/S)

My Preference is to sort the backline ASAP to become competitive. Freo/Swans have proven you do not need to be a high scoring team to win (ugly as the game style is). This will instil a touch of hardness/mongrelness (is that even a word), to restrict teams scoring ability. We usually bleed hard on rebounds/play switches/junk time goals.

So my draft opinions is as follows:

Weitering (Defender), Francis (Defender), Weiderman (Forward) , Collins (Defender)

Players in :

Kerridge (HFF/MID)

Phillips (Ruck)

Lamb (HFF/MID)

Sumner (HFF/MID)

Plowman (DEF/MID)

If we could jag a good midfielder in PSD I would be rapt .... SOS has done a great job with little time to settle in.
