Absolutely my take, and not just with him, throw all the others into that bucket! The swill is so much like the Tigers supporters for twenty years, the scum are following suit. But wait! For all that I hate about The Filth, their supporters stick fat, always have, it's what they do better than us, they support their team, we burn them.....there's about five very loud posters here who just bang on with their own petty agendas, that bore the rest of us to death, WE ALL KNOW THEM!!

Rubbish. Just not correct. All supporters are the same.

I do tend to agree that all supporters are the same. In the sense that if Collingwood had the same history we do their supports would act the same way we are now.
Humans are all the same, It’s not like Carlton supporters are naturally toxic.
We have been through the ringer and we act accordingly.

I saw pies fans start to slowly turn on McCrae and diacos last year after a few poor results.
I go to all Collingwood home games as well and there supporters are exactly the same as us, extremely passionate back, their team fully only, difference is they have been successful as a club.

Just on this, it's something I've been musing about lately in my mind. You really don't see coaches winning premierships at multiple clubs now. It used to be a measuring stick for greatness in coaching, but now it just doesn't seem to happen.

Who was the last to win one at multiple clubs? Mick Malthouse? Probably Leigh Matthews before him. Since those 2 I can't recall one.

I wonder if going after premiership coaches really is a good idea anymore, I think the scope of coaching has change a lot in the last 15-20 yrs. What Fages does in Brisbane is likely very different to what Scott does with Geelong and one may not work at the other. Just plonking a great coach into a club these days doesn't quite do the same thing as it did probably 20 yrs ago. These days you need to be great connectors in a way that fits the nature of the playing group and broader club as much as they need to get the Xs and Os at an elite level. A great tactical coach that can't gel with the playing group, medical team, asst coaches and so on is useless - and I think that piece is what makes it so hard to do it at multiple clubs now.
Malthouse didn't wan the flag at the Eagles, the players did... they essentially had a State side at their disposal....

He did the same thing up in Brisbane. Living on the Gold Coast local media brought it up a few times. His last yr or 2 I recall a rather large injury list and criticism for his handling of it.

There's a balance between pushing through and knowing what you and can't play through, and needing to manage players. It seems the side of the line he falls on more often than not is you'll be right - probably based off his personal experience, and tbf, that of his team and coach who all would push through imo.

Some guys don't even notice a niggle, others struggle unless 100% sure in their body. Judd could play through anything and often did. We've seen several others in our time who get a niggle and it's very, very clear. Some guys minds are able to compartmentalise it while others like to have full confidence in their body, you can train it to a point but broadly it's hard coded and purely in the individuals nature.

Voss lost me at the elimination final against Brisbane when he rushed back all his injured "stars" and dropped all the younger players who were performing well in the lead up to that final, it just reeked of a "Hail Mary" approach.
