IF Gibbs left they would demand 2 1st rounders again and would use these picks to chase Josh Kelly. If Gibbs stays, they wont chase Kelly.

Andy Maher in the first 10 minutes of The Carlton Show ep 19 told a story which concluded that Carlton "Have already past the post" in the chase for Josh Kelly and another team that was in the chase for Josh Kelly have accepted he's going to Carlton.

To add to this, Andy Maher identified North Melbourne (where Kelly's dad played his VFL footy) as the 'other team' Carlton had gone past in the preceding week's podcast.

A few little tid bits to share. Source is from within the club:

1) JSos has been playing under extreme duress and has a cooked shoulder which will require surgery at years end...however a fair knock in the right place would end his season immediately ( I appreciate his RS win even more now!)

2) The club are internally extremely excited for Ben Sos to join the navy blues. He is apparently considered a 'rare talent' and is tracking twice as well as Jack at the same stage.

3) Gibbs request for a trade last year apparently had absolutely nothing to do with his wife wanting to go back home, that was used as a bit of a smokescreen. My source wouldn't divulge exactly what the real reason is, but he will definitely request to go again at years end and again he will be let go if we are adequately compensated.

4) Bolts is apparently a terrific bloke who makes time for all the staff at the club at all levels. The players all love him and he along with Trigg, he has been instrumental in turning the culture of the club completely around!
Apparently the CFC is now a great place to work and the cultural change has been quite dramatic!

Paul Connors on holidays overseas for a month, (Kellys Manager) SOS has met with his stand in replacement. Reported on radio this morning

Carlton meeting with Kelly's management (as would every team right now).

• Only able to rotate 3 players through midfield. Whereas other clubs are able to rotate at least 8 through. Emphasis on finding at least another 3 midfielders.

• Gibbs will request a trade again.

• Kelly apparently homesick. We are still very much a destination club for the GWS players.

Just an idea on how we might do that deal someone suggested with McGovern going to WCE... we might also send along Boekhorst to the Eagles in return for their first round pick coming to us.

So I think that the final deal might end up being
Carlton out: Gibbs (Adelaide), Boekhorst (WCE)
Carlton in: Kelly (GWS), Hopper (GWS)

Adelaide out: McGovern , First round pick
Adelaide in: Gibbs (Carlton)

WCE out: 2017 First Rnd Pick
WCE in: McGovern (Adelaide), Boekhorst (Carlton)

GWS out: Kelly, Hopper
GWS in: 2017 First Rnd Pick (Adelaide), 2017 First Rnd Pick (WCE)

We might also have to toss the weagles a second or third round pick, with a 4th rounder coming back to us from them.

I did this back in June... I have been told, by someone with some very good connections, that the majority of the deal is as I said.

The Gibbs trade will be as I said, McGovern to the weagles with Gibbs to Adelaide. The picks coming to us would be the better of the weagles or the cowbots 2017 first round pick and the other teams 2018 first round pick. There might also be a player coming to us from either Adelaide or a 4th team with something going to them from Adelaide.

As for the guys from GWS, we are looking at Kelly, Hopper, and/or Whitfield with Griffen as the salary dump player for 2017. Griffen only has the one year left on his contract and when that is up, he is done... and he will move into a coaching role in the VFL.

Boekhorst isn't part of any deal with WCE. He might be steak knives to Freo for Balic.

To say I was somewhat stunned when I was told of the deal because of how closely it mirrored mine.

Kelly will be at the Blues next year and is set to leave GWS no matter what happens at the end of the season. This is coming from Mason Wood, who had lunch with someone I work with, yesterday.

GWS are extremely keen on getting pick 1 in this year's draft. Not sure how they will go about doing that but suggests that they are resigned to losing Kelly. Kelly has completely ruled out North because of their culture, or lack thereof. Looks like we will need to give up our first pick this year to secure him. The only way I see us holding a first round pick and getting Kelly is if we trade Gibbs. Interesting times ahead!

P.S. I work with someone who knows someone at GWS. He had predicted the Marchbank move early on last year.

Last season apparently SOS inquired about Brandon Matera and apparently him and the Gold Coast nearly reached a deal but rumour is it fell apart because of another deal (dont know what that deal was) so dont be surprised if SOS has another crack at him.

Whilst not a direct impact on Carlton, the AFL have put the wheels in motion to send North Melbourne to Hobart. All clubs executives are aware though it's still not concrete. The club itself at present is not viable and the talk from Sinjin Snr who does have close ties with a board member at Carton and a well known North identity, it is not good for North.

I don't like posting nor saying this, whilst Sinjin Snr whisked myself and my sisters between Melbourne and London during our schooling years we did develop a love of VFL AFL and were destroyed when Fitzroy went under, my dad the most. I say this with sadness, I really hope this is bullshit.

I do ask that this is not used on draft and trading forums for the north and Dustin/Kelly deals by our supporters.

Interesting trade rumour discussed on GuesSEN this morning, apparently GWS wont let Kelly and Hopper go. If Kelly goes according to Sam McClure then GWS will apparently "do their best" to retain Hopper.

Norf are totally focussed on Dusty.
Kelly is 95% Blue, mark my words.
Saints still a smoky, but their new chase for Hopper suggests they know they're out.
