Board%20Announcement_620x370.jpg

TWO of Australia’s leading business professionals, Patty Kinnersly and David Campbell, will join the Carlton Football Club Board of Directors this year.
Executive Deputy Chairman of Spotlight Group Zac Fried will retire from the Board at the conclusion of the season, while Australian Sex Discrimination Commissioner Kate Jenkins has tendered her resignation and will finish in her role as Director following July’s Board meeting.

Carlton President Mark LoGiudice acknowledged Jenkins and Fried for their significant and wide-ranging contributions to the Carlton Football Club.

Tough to tell.

Good to see Patty will be primarily concerned with the women's teams.

Whatever your views on women's football, if we're going to be in in it, let's be in it properly.

The other bloke was involved in hiring Bolts and Liddle and is probably in charge of the McKay replacement so at least he has skin in the game.

Best of luck to the appointees.

Length of service on Carlton board:

Marcus Clarke: 2007-current
Mark Logudice: 2010-current
Jeanne Pratt: 2011-current
Craig Mathieson: 2012-current
Luke Sayers: 2012-current
Chris Judd: 2017-current

As the sex discrimination commissioner, Jenkin has a lot of work to do in her day job :). Happy that she's put up her hand to resign and handover to someone who can devote the time and has the passion to grow the AFLW team, amongst other things. Welcome Patty and David. Govern well.

A reminder that our board members donate money to the club to get that position. They must donate a minimum amount of money each year as a board member afaik.

Unlike other clubs who have the board as paid positions, who will just entrench themselves for a continued paycheque (hawks). So while you may hate them all for various reason at least they are giving the club something (like free legal representation in the case of Clarke) each year and not just in it for the money.

I don't know much about these people, or the board, but I replied to the Pres's email and suggested that while people are leaving it might be timely to get rid of whichever marketing genius thinks that putrid grey uniform is a good idea.

Just a thought

Whoever designed that grey uniform needs a good kick up the 'navy blue pockets'....

Our retiree oversaw marketing if I read it right. If so, hoping for some improvements in that department

Yep, I noted that. I'm hoping there is some sort of correlation and we never see those embarrassments again. Maybe he got 'retired' after the grey shades fiasco and that will be the end of it.

So only people with enough disposable income to pony up sizeable ongoing payments need apply?
I don't necessarily see that as a positive TBH.
