Carlton president Mark LoGiudice has denied the club could be forced to seek financial aid from the AFL following the impending withdrawal of its major sponsor CareerOne, the registered training organisation chaired by former AFL boss Andrew Demetriou.

In a disastrous turn of events for the Blues the club is facing a black hole of more than $1 million after a major client of CareerOne was suspended pending a Federal Government audit.

The best news to come out of this is that we'll no longer have a lime green sponsor plastered on out guernsey.

In all seriousness, I'm not unhappy we're getting away from Career One. Ideally it would have been handled a little better but I don't think this will be a 'huge' issue. We're a big Victorian club on the rise, I'd suggest there'd be a few suitors...

Caroline Wilson is football's version of a gossip columnist. A true dramatist. Some of the language used is pretty hillarious; "black hole", "diastrous".

It's a blessing in disguise, we are now publically available to a new major sponsor, so much positive media on our development and youth. The right opportunity for a big company to get involved with Australia's most iconic sporting brand back on the rise. We get the early opportunity to renegotiate with a new major sponsor on what is sure to be a bigger deal.

Club has known CareerOne was shaky for a while, and would be very surprised if a potential couple of suitors aren't already being negotiated with.

I'd be happier if Carlton supporters actually financially backed the club and bought memberships but they don't.

A million dollars is nothing to be sneezed at and can hurt the club big time....an extra10k in memberships negates that.

I have faith in the current regime to right this but if anyone thinks this is good when we are still at a delicate stage of our recovery is delusional

I will look on the bright side here. Our prospects as a team are so much brighter than they were when Career One signed on. We should get a better sponsor out of this problem.
