And just for the nostalgia buffs I'm gonna stick my neck out and suggest Vinnie's first game was against the Tiggers too. I haven't checked Blueseum but I'm going with the 1973 GF. Happy to be corrected on that.

I like that in a ruckman, someone to protect and lead physically, if he can improve in an offensive aspect he might have half a chance, however I think Hampson, Aiske and Cloke are ahead ATM.

Good to be mentioning several names for one position though. On another note I think that is the case all over the ground which means we have great depth, i.e. there are players fighting for a position everywhere. The only spot not really challenged is FF and Fev, I hope he doesnt let us down.

Bring on the season proper!

There's no doubt that Sam has a whole lot of work ahead of him if he wants to make it in the firsts, but you've gotta' start somewhere. I personally would love to see him have a run on the ground.

It is great having so many options for ruck. Turn the clock back a year and see how much different it is today. The pre-season will certainly have a large say in who plays where and when. On the note of Fevola, I don't ever want to see him anywhere other than FF ever again.

Sam offers a sheild, Lance offered a one man goal kicker.

He may not have speed but if he can get that body in there to do the one percenters, it's an incredible team performance lift.
