lol. That article says nothing. Read it again. Only says the Blues have expressed interest in Everitt. And the reportor is speculating the Saints will show interest in Everitt even though they haven't at this stage. Anyway, the main factor will be where he wants to go, and how much pressure Lakes massive contract puts on your salary cap. It's a win-win for the Blues because we either get him for pick 27 or keep our pick. The Bulldogs have somehow managed to alienate a top-10 superdraft pick. Something to ponder. :)

Even though he is contracted for the next 2 years? Something else to ponder.

That has to be a win-win for the Blues - even if they don't get him (and yes, I know that every player wants to be at Carlton...).

Parrot, did you know that Cam Wight is available?

Do you realize that you can trade a player in contract if both sides agree? What's more the Bulldogs have even said "they're seeking a trade", so I have no idea what you're on about. The same factors are still festering away i.e. the salary cap pressure because of Hall's 400k+ pa contract, plus Lake who is STILL trying to milk more $'s out of the Bulldogs. The salary cap situation is going to influence how desperately the Bulldogs need to offload him. Other Clubs know this. I know the Blues want him, I know Everitt wants to go to the Blues, but the practicalities and complexities of trade week will make it very difficult, especially with the potential Fev trade, but you never know. Blues are pushing hard for a 3rd round pick from the Dees over the Mclean trade, and I guess this could somehow form part of a Everitt deal. It's going to be a pretty amazing trade week. Have no idea who Cam Wight is. :)

I admit most Bulldogs players look the same to me. i.e. around 6 foot, play in the middle or flanks, love chip-kicking, hate contested footy, and are unable to pack-mark. Only a few standout from the norm. Everitt is one. I'll try to take more notice next year. :)

:DThis says it all(the Dogs finished 4th for contested possessions in 2009).

Been a while since we were the downhill skiers of the AFL:).

....Shame, in its absence there is some decent discussion going on.

While I'm not hopeful, perhaps you can make your "debut intelligent input" for this thread and tell us what's happening with the Lake deal. News just out from the Bulldogs officials that the Lake negotiations have stalled. This is huge news, and will impact this potential Everitt trade. :)

No we have not. We have given the same response when asked. "Everitt is a contracted and required player"

Not sure who you are quoting with the quotation marks in your post... I'd love to know.

That was a quote from 2 weeks ago. I listened to Fanta today. He said today "he is a required player", but in the next breath he says "we're open to offers but we haven't received any...yet?. A little ambiguous eh. lol. Don't you just love trade week. Fact is they're waiting to see how this Lake grab-for-cash gets resolved, and that outcome together with the offers they get from other Clubs, will determine if Everitt stays or goes. Not confident he'll end up at the Blues, but the door is still ajar. :)

I want a source for your so called quote :)
