Excellent reading all round guys. Wonderful to be able to read arguments for and against without either side resorting to abuse. Makes a welcome change. But with the quality of the posters, not an un-surprising one.
One thing (this is the utopian Grendel, dreaming away knowing its never ever going to happen) is, with the world in theory and indeed in practice shrinking every year. The net, quicker travel, better communications between peoples than ever before, more exchange of ideas, wouldn't it be wonderful to remove all borders and truly become a United world.
However while all this progress towards better understanding is going on, we have more and more 'separatists' movements, new countries, ethnic cleansing going on that more than cancels it out.
