Into the fray again...................

I was wondering............

Are the boat people an Australian problem or is the problem really in Afghanhstan, where most fled from?

If so then is it not weak United Nations policing that we have as a World entity that needs to be addressed?

I dont believe it something that Frodo and I agree on.

The UN have to be the weakest orginization on earth. Its a pity really because a really strong UN could act as an early intervention force and stop some of the rubbish that goes on around the place. Any sign of ethnic violence and the UN should have troops on the ground, round up the leaders and clang a few heads together.

But no thanks to vested self-interest, this will never happen. The UN is a joke and it is no wonder that good people like Mary Robinson are leaving.

Its a pity-when good people do nothing, evil prospers.

Interesting to note that some of the main suspects for the WTC tragedy did actually enter th US as asylum seekers.

looks like the current method of detaining asylum seekers until processing occurs seems to be a sensible way to go.

Frodo....you are being a wimp.

Whay are you posing all your posts as quesitons ? State what you think !!!!

Satay Mat

They entered with saudia arabian passports..more likely fradulent... since Saudi is pro america it is much easier to get in with that down as place of origin as opposed to be Afghanastain, palestinian ect.
The question I have is, the biggest problem that Australia has when processing illegal boat people is the lack of i.d. It is common knowledge that the greater majority of boat people throw their documents and i.d overboard in a bid to claim refugee status with their *story*....since the greater majority of late of boat people are Afghanistans/Palestians...if they have nothing to *hide* then why aren't they doing it the *proper* way like everyone else who trys? I know its probably because they think that since their in aus...there a better chance of being accepted then applyin at home...why is it that their ships suddenly become *unsafe and unshipworthy* when they enter australian waters?.....how can they afford tens and twenty thousands of dollars to get here..and then when shipped to Naru..demand that the Australian government pay to send them back to Pakistan and Sri Lanka? Hello, i went overseas and had to fork out my way home....Australia has a very weak immigration law..instead of worrying about what other country's think of our laws...(they all become angels..when its discussed)..we should learn from the mistakes that other countries have made...we have a relatively safe society..but when extremist views on religion-women/ violence come into place..we have the right to protect our lifestyle. No pussyfooting around, this should be treated as a wake up call...look at the amount of money spent on that whole tampa issue....and then we have our high court go against the feeling/thoughs that the greater majority of australians believe.
This isnt against a particular race or religion..more so..a need for greater security for us as citizens....greater reviewing of backgrounds..associations and pasts....supposedly 34 country's now have groups/members of the Taliban supported Bin..sect of violence...who says we arent the next ones to go?

These people are leaving a backward, barbaric regime, that is a corruption of what the Koran actually teaches ( The Taliban was initially funded by the USA to fight the Soviet Union in Afghanistan) and if YOU had money and lived in such a place, YOU would want to get out as quickly as possible as well.
