A Federal MP making physical threats to journalists should never be tolerated. Especially when their front bar threats are all about them, not the people they are elected to represent.

A self obsessed fool who represents the very worst of what we should want our Parliamentary representatives to be.

Would be wishing that he and his ridiculous top hat get tossed out of Parliament for good but just know that the Queensland conservatives would dish up a nutter to take his place that would make Katter look like a Mensa member.

As much as the meme is a little bit funny, this is really not on from a member of parliament. There actually needs to be a consequence given here.

The line of question was entirely reasonable given the context.

Absolutely.

I mean Bob is a bit of a running joke, a parody of himself and in his lucid moments he actually talks some sense - or at least brings something thoughtful to the table.

But there are minimum acceptable behaviours. And this threat of violence was highly unbecoming - if not criminal.

So who will hold him to account? If not legally, will we at least get media pressure on him to apologise?

The two countries he used as examples were Finland and Croatia.

Finland is basically atheist, not Christian. Has extremely generous IR policy, far more so than Katter would entertain. More Democratic, more social welfare, more egalitarian.

It’s literally a “woke” nation, and Finns migrating here would be more “woke” than the average Australian, so I’m not sure if Katter would truly want more Finns in this country.
