I highly doubt that Beveridge had not told Murphy of his plans before doing so.
I do not think he is being judged too much for accepting the medal(at the game) and lifting the cup. It is the way he conducted himself since(he is entitled to do so but I do wonder if he will look back on it and slightly cringe despite it being a great day for him) and the taking of the spotlight from others that a few posters seem to dislike.
If you take Beveridge's word for it, it was a spur of the moment decision.
I do in a way agree that he could cringe a bit. But at the end of the day to go what he's been through at the club, and basically become the father figure/public face of it, the level of elation he would currently be feeling would be insane. It's also probably important to keep in mind that no doubt the media are running with the Wood/Murphy shots at supporter day as they are pushing that narrative. It's pretty likely Beveridge is taking part too.
