I highly doubt that Beveridge had not told Murphy of his plans before doing so.

I do not think he is being judged too much for accepting the medal(at the game) and lifting the cup. It is the way he conducted himself since(he is entitled to do so but I do wonder if he will look back on it and slightly cringe despite it being a great day for him) and the taking of the spotlight from others that a few posters seem to dislike.

If you take Beveridge's word for it, it was a spur of the moment decision.

I do in a way agree that he could cringe a bit. But at the end of the day to go what he's been through at the club, and basically become the father figure/public face of it, the level of elation he would currently be feeling would be insane. It's also probably important to keep in mind that no doubt the media are running with the Wood/Murphy shots at supporter day as they are pushing that narrative. It's pretty likely Beveridge is taking part too.

I just wish the media could let things breathe a little bit. They ruin nice moments by burying them in wheelbarrows full of mayonnaise.

I was tired of the Bulldogs fairytale before the game even started.

Probably reading too much into that photo, but it's actually heartbreaking.

Kind of changed my whole outlook on this. He'll never be one of premiership guys (unless they win next year) and what was he supposed to do after the win. Act glum and not excited? His other team members will be feeling so much pride and joy just from his happiness and from having him apart of it.

No doubt he probably regrets not getting Bevo in for the cup raise, but you can see how easy that would be to forget.

I'm coming around on this and him.

Bob Murphy has been a veteran of the club since 2000. He played in several losing prelims. He was there in the dark times. He stepped in as captain when Ryan Grimace went to the AFL's latest toy. He became All-Australian captain that year. And in the one year that his side won the flag, he did his ACL. Beveridge felt sorry for him and gave him a medal, and got him to realise his dream of lifting the trophy which he thought he'd never fulfil.

Cut everyone involved some bloody slack! Bugger it - as an opposition supporter, the Bulldogs/Murphy story gets a 'tick' from me #ocaptainmycaptain

And nobody, ever, in the history of the AFL, has ever carried on like such a flogsock the way you are right now over something that has absolutely no impact on you whatsoever.

Go and start a petition to ban all non players from having a can after a game of fifth grade cricket this summer.

Is that you Bob?
Who would have thought that it was controversial to suggest that Premiership medallions are for premiership players and coaches.

o_O

This photo is brutal. The way he walked off when the poster photo was taken. It's a shame he was caught in it.

Ol' Bob with the Charlie Brown throw back.

To all the angry people out there, if it was your club in the same situation you would love it.

For example it would of been awesome if Bolton did the same for a Kade Simpson or Marc Murphy if they missed out on a flag

And who the hell would think it's controversial for someone to do with their own property what they want to do with it.

Genuine AFL game singlets are for people who've earned them.

If Nathan Jones offers you one off his back are you going to say no?

What about genuine socks? For everyone or just the players?

By the way, I don't know where I got the idea in my head that you were a demons supporter.

It was literally like 15 seconds between reading your post and typing a reply and in that period I managed to somehow forget the swans and come up with Melbourne.

That's alright it made as much sense as the rest of your rant. :D

You're right.

Suggesting that the actions of a man you don't know, encouraged by 23 others you don't know, and who's actions have been loved by the only few hundred thousand people who have a vested interest in what he's doing, shouldn't be of any concern to you, really doesn't make sense.

Premiership medals are given to premiership players and the premiership coach for the simple reason that they are the ones that have earned the right to the darn things.
It means something to win a premiership medal. The operative word being 'win'.

I know I am shooting bambi here, but honestly I am over hearing and seeing him the last week or so. Yes he is unlucky to have gotten injured but the fact is he did not play on Saturday.

Nearly every main picture of the celebrations has him holding the cup.

So what? It is our premiership and, if Bob wants to, he can spoon the cup every night for the rest of his life.

Murphy ya selfish dawggggggg! It ain't about you mate

Seriously though imagine players like lin Jong and suckling who made somewhat of a meaningful contribution this year compared to Bob, having to watch him parade around, singing in the team circle etc. Just take your medal and get off stage you jabroni
