Its not the accepting of the medal (though he should have given it back after) Its the carrying on like he had just won the flag singlehandedly that gets me. Both Simpson and Murphy would be too embarassed to act like that, and rightly so.

Yes anyone can give whatever they want to a homeless kid. But you don't see the kid acting like he was a premiership player because it hurts him that he isn't.
Class act Bevo, his act was quality.
But Bob on the otherhand, its him running out onto the ground first, starring at Bevo child like that people question. Bevos act of compassion is not in question.

I seriously cannot remember a single thing in sport that has made people so "offended" or "salty" to recycle a couple of mildly ret@rded terms, over something that simply does not.matter

Noboby is "offended", or "angry", or any of the other hyperbolic terms being used.

It's unusual for a person not directly involved in a premiership win to take centre stage like Bob has. He's had more press than most of the players that played in the game (including the Norm Smith winner).

The people with thin skins are the people that are using hyperbolic terms to describe the people that are uneasy with that.

its a footy discussion forum and the discussion is about bob murphy and, expanding on that, if players who didnt play in a grand final have a stake in the premiership. if you find it boring or pointless then don't read it. simples.

It's football. This is a football forum.

There isn't an aspect of football that doesn't draw opinions from people. You don't need to be "going into bat" to have an opinion.

It amazes me how precious some people can be when discussing football.

Bullshit. Everyone including the supporters carry on like they've single handedly won the flag for their team. It's called winning a premiership.

Some will hate it, some wont care & some will love it.

It's no mystery. Don't get you panties wet because someone disagrees with your take.
 
Why can't this be accepted as what it is.

Beveridge gave Murphy his Medal, it was a great moment, move on.

No discussing if the a new medal should be made specially, no discussion on whether Bob gives it back. Its a great moment, take it for what it is.
