That we start to play attractive footy and become a team that people enjoy watching...very different to the last 3 years

Living in Melbourne I thoroughly enjoyed all 5 games I saw live in 2017. Narrow wins against Melbourne, Richmond and Norf with a heart breaker against Geelong and an honourable loss to Essendon (after a couple of beltings in preceding weeks).

Also - I would say the style we played in 2013 and 2014 was not discernibly different to 2015.

Hmm...
There is a possibility Ross may be asked to “take a vacation” mid season if we start winning too many games ;-)

Based on the FreoMonocle list management model, you are out by a year...

We've culled, we've replenished the list (still needs work - but that's a permanent and ongoing task). From now, we're working on our ladder position and not rejuvenating, will take time to get 100% out of our young uns, so we will still finish lower than our potential, but our climb starts now.

Fk it, Bradbury the flag...

Its impossible for non Vic teams to bradbury a flag. We dont get the same advantages Vic teams do in finals series.

eg Richmond playing their away QF and the GF at the MCG, the Bulldogs playing an away SF and the GF in Melbourne despite finishing 7th.

How many of those 'away' finals were against Victorian teams?

I don't believe in conspiracy theories and excuses are for losers.

Edit: Lol @ crying about the GF as 'away' games. Ridiculous.

Being a Vic team in a GF at the MCG against a non Vic team is a massive advantage as per recent results. Not ridiculous at all. And as good as the Dogs were in 2016 there's no way they would have won the flag had they had to travel in the second week and then travel to Sydney for the GF. To put it in perspective, imagine Adelaide finished 7th that year. Do you think they would win the flag having to go to Perth, Melbourne, Sydney then Melbourne? Because of the surplus of Vic teams in the AFL there will always be instances where Vic teams 'travel' to the MCG. And that is an advantage, 'excuse' or not. My point was its impossible for a non Vic team to bradbury the flag, We dont get these advantages.

Yep, 6 of the last 7 premierships have been won by the vic team playing against an interstate team.

Some Vic teams play over 10 games at G. WA teams are lucky to even get two. It's a joke.

Yes but when we finally stick it up those Vic fuqers it will be so worth it. They ( the VFL/ AFL) have done everything possible to make it as hard as possible for interstate clubs to have a fair go, but that will be be eroded over time and eventually it should become a level playing field for all teams regardless of where they are based. I hope I live long enough to see that day.

The better team wins 100% of matches, at home, or away.

2038 is just around the corner :rainbow:

Andrew was a cheat!! And i will never change my opinion of him , a manipulative arseh*le

Yep. Wayne Jackson had the AFL moving in a good direction towards a true national comp but Demetriou turned it back around and set Gil up to continue his work. We were closer to a true national comp in 2004 than we are now.

Watch the push for an Essendon flag go into full swing this year. It'd be a marketing and PR bonanza.
