Bomber fans are Jealous of North

I have observed that most of the sledges against the North Melbourne/Kangaroos football club has come from Bomber fans ??!!
I wonder why ? Is it because they have the best coach in the league, the best player in the country (and maybe of all time), and have a very loyal, vocal and passionate (albert small) supporter group who stick with the Roos through think of thin. The fact is that North have done wonderfully well in the past six seasons, winning two flags and a premliminiary final appearance in 97 when they finished 7th. I still maintain that the Roos would have made the GF had Mckernan not suffered that shoulder injury. The bombers on the other hand, have basically achieved nothing during that time. Is this a case of jealousy. this Cat supporter thinks so. I have nothing but the greatest respect and admiration for the Kangaroos.

Going by that logic, wouldn't EVERY club be jealous of North........including Geelong.

I respect North have achieved a lot of success in the LAST SEVEN YEARS.

But I am not jealous of a club that has only won 4 flags, has little (but growing support), and has an all time winning percentage of just over 40%.

I'll take Essendon'd 15 premierships, if I had the choice between the two, buddy.

I wouldn't say Essendon hasn't acieved anything either. Whilst a Grand Final victory has eluded us since '93, two one-point preliminary final loses, and a "top spot" in 1999, as well as final appearances in 5 of the last 6 years is hardly 'not achieving" Add to that Night flags in 1990, 93,94 and 2000. With "luck" we could have won 4 premierships in the 1990's, if everything was going our way.

I think YOU are the one who seems to be jealous of North.

Why would a GEELONG supporter claim that another suporter group (Essendon) is jealous of North?????

In your original post, I think there is MORE jealousy coming from you directed towrads Essendon, than Essendon towards North.

Because you publicy state your hatred of the Bombers in your other posts, that makes your "original" post on this topic less cridible.

But I have noticed you lack any credibility anyway.

Realistically, can you name ANY Grand Final winning team over the last 20 years, that hasn't had ALL opposition clubs saying, "I'd like to be in their shoes" ??

It is amazing really... how a small club like the Kangaroos with a small supporter base (but high ratio of members/supporters)... always in financial trouble (according to USC anyway)... with primative training facilities (according to USC anyway)... and with only one good player (according to all non North fans anyway)... can match it with that almighty football club Essendon and be better then another supposedly almighty football club Collingwood over the last 35 years... oh yeah and the Kangaroos have never finished a season lower then 12th... neither of these two superpowers can say that...

Crows have won two out of ten. Essendon 16 out of over 100.

What... St Kilda in your opinion are less dudful???

but really lets get fairdinkum since football turned into a professional sport around the early 70's... Only Essendon Hawthorn Carlton and the Kangaroos have been successful on the football oval... all the rest have had a fluke year or nothing at all... West Coast and Adelaide will probably be added to this list of great teams during the Modern Era... but anyone else is just dreaming at the moment...

A flag won in 1901 counts as "1" just as a flag won in 2001 does.

You say "only count the years when the game became professional" why only count those and what does that really mean anyway? In the 70s, the game was not professional, really you could say it has only become professional in the last two or three years.

That is a bulldust convenient argument so it makes the roos look better than what they are . The argument is -"-Look, I dont want to count 1925 through to 1974 b/c footy wasnt professional then, but hey presto in 1975 it was and lo and behold, the roos won the flag!" -
If you are talking about footy being proessionally "run" then that is even more damning on North b/c when it was easier to win a flag you couldnt do it for 50 years.

These arbitrary time contraints are silly. Much as I hate it the Adelaide fellow is right. They have the highest % success rate of any team including my bombers.

This is an old post brought up from before the time when Essendon won the 2000 premeirship. Hence the name "Dan24", and the reference to 16 premierships.

To the abuser. Essendon have won 10 flags in the last 60 years (1942-2001 inclusive) No club has won more premierships, played in the finals more often, or played in as many Grand Finals as Essendon has in this period. You conveniently start your 35 year sequence in 1966, the year after we had won in 1965 (and we won in 1962 as well). You can bend stats to prove anything but no matter how much you bend them, you won't get around the fact, that no club has won more premierships than Essendon.
