Hope you didnt get a look at a couple of yesterdays games either. To be honest i dont think it will be possible for another side to waste the ball as much as the Hawks and Brisbane did last night .

I didn't see that game ant.

I did watch the Sydney v West Coast game though and neither team waste the ball or stuff around much but of course they are both the last 2 GF teams.

Coincidence...me thinks not.


Even in the times that Sydney were struggling to move the ball quickly into their forward zone they generally didn't kick the ball backwards and their main aim was to keep posession whilst still moving forward or switching.

I do not recall once where they switched from one flank to the other and then back again to the orginator.

But again, they are the last 2 premiers.

Seriously Merve , not even we could waste it that much.Both sides played 2 or 3 blokes behind the ball and both sides continually went sideways ,backwards and sideways again. The difference in the end was Brisbane where able to hit more targets because Hawthorn didnt man up.
My argument has never been that we dont stuff around. I have only been saying other sides do it as well and i dont agree that we are worse at it than other sides.

As for Sydney like you said they do chip it around but they dont switch back and forth. They move forwards and sideways. The reason they can do this the same reason i have said before ,their players work harder to make and targets and their skill level is better so it doesnt look as bad.

Fair points made and maybe i was too harsh in my asessment.

Anyway i am off too the pub to watch the game now, lets hope we can be at the very least competitive......

He burnt the ball when kicked it, all but once or twice i agree, but he also did some very nice things and will get better.

Everyone wants to have a shot at Jobe because of his kicking but it gets blown way out of proportion. Yes he does need to work on his kicking and had a couple of turn overs but it is the continual harping of the commentators that makes it worse. Jobe makes a mistake and they are on him and his kicking straight away. Stanton under no pressure kicks a pass to Hille and it goes to his boot laces and the only comment was Hille fumbled it and not that it was a poor kick that should have hit Hille on the chest. People get it in their head and it seems to magnify the problem even more.
