I haven't written him off - not at all. He's been in the system quite a while now so he really has to show something this season. Aside from that, I've never really seen him as a CHF - more as a full forward leading target. Don't think he's strong enough over head to play CHF.
but how can you say that?? he's played FOUR GAMES. You say you haven't written him off then in the same breath you write him off!

NAB at FF. H will never be a Downo Browno or Carey CHF, ripping dudes apart. His is more like St Nick in that his game plan revolves around running and running and leading and leading and running and leading. He has to present 150 times a game and when fully fit i think he can do it.

NA or Ottens for me in the square. If we could have a fully fit King for a season alongside a fully fit Ottens and Big Scary in their as well it would do wonders for our forward structure. Ottens looked very dangeous at times last year and he ALWAYS gets his hands on the ball and provides a VERY good contest.

NA showed in one quarter that he could possibly be a game breaker for us. 4 games one completely broken by little NAbs. He looks a lot better when he leads than Kent as he looks as though he will kill anyone who gets in his way, big boy and when he learns to use that he could be very good. On the other hand we cant leave it all up to him. As there are many players regardless of the name or number on their back who have had one brilliant game never to be seen again.

Then we have a different view of what writing someone off is. Read the post again. All I did was comment that he's been in the system for a long time and that MY OPINION was that he's more suited to full forward. Get a grip!

What about number 6?
I'll worry about where 6 plays when he plays that up til now has been off and on. The thing is that one game before Ottens went down , when we had Ottens who is quite mobile for a 200+ tall , NA and KK running around Playfair as well. We had a tall but very mobile dangerous forwardline.Put that on the ground for a season and watch.

and for the "all we are saying is give Tom a chance" group. Wouldn't you expect the selection team to use their judgement based on years of football experience and the stuff we dont see like training , weight room etc. to make a total judgement on when Tom's gun is loaded and ready for hunting bear. If you drop him in it too early it might do more harm than good. He must have the weapons or its just lambs to the slaughter and then he will be dead meat.

of course, and that's why they dropped him in for his first game vs. the Kangas, when we were ALMOST at full strength. He played a decent debut too. Compare that to when we sent the seconds up to play the Lions, and Lonergan got belted from one side of the ground to the other - That was just inexperience, not incompetence. Big ask to have a 3 game veteran playing on the dirtiest backline in the league.

- David Johnson ranks very highly in the playing group and is a huge chance to be in the leadership group of 6 that will announced on Monday.
Tommorow we'll find out who the leadership group for our Premiership season will be - sorry, just building up some hope....lets hope it pays off.

Ottens and King are the key next year. If they fire, we will go deep into September.

Interesting if you look at the last ruck contest from the SF again, Playfair had Ball's arm around his shoulder!
