Seeing as they've been cheating all year by throwing the footy and kicking the opposition, it seems this team is the darling of the umps and tribunal.

What's the likelyhood that now Barnes and Lloyd will get off when if they had been doggies players the book would have been thrown at them.

You talk such rubbish!!

Barnes will go, there was no excuse for what he did. Stupid act, particularly this close to th efinals. As for the Lloyd incident, many seem vary quick to make judgement without looking at the incident closely.

While I admit the collision looked ugly and will no doubt be scrutinised by the umpires, replays clearly show that intial contact was made with Kretiuk's arm resulting in a high tackle. Lloyd was also trying to avoid contact. This is obvious, otherwise he would have charged straight into Kretiuk's back.

A Richmond player was exonerated for a similar incident earlier in the year.

All who disagree are free to shot me down in flames

Trying to avoid contact by sheparding with a foreare to the head?
Sorry Lloydy while I DO think there was no intent to strike, that doesnt seem to mean much nowdays. It was an ugly looking bit of play. I really dont know if he will get rubbed out but I do think he will get a call up from the video blokes.

Barnes can say sanyonare for 2 weeks with his history though.

Grendel - have a good look at the Lloyd incident on video. The contact was made with Kretiuk's arm. Not his neck, not his head and not reportable.

Barnes will get reported, particularly after Brereton's discraceful outburst (can anyone say "conflict of interest"?) but personally I doubt he'll get more than a week.

I can't believe how pissed off I feel now.

How come every time we lose, it has to be dramatic. Why can't we just have a normal 20 point loss for once *sigh*. One thing is for sure, life as an Essendon supporter is never dull. Just when you look to be on the verge of something (i.e the premiership in 1999, or an unbeaten seaosn in 2000), we lose in dramatic fashion. Close, herat-wrenching losses.

AAAARRRRRRRRGGGGHHHHHHHHHH !!!!!

Easy Dan24 (talking to himself)

Don't show them it hurts. That's what they want to see. Just smile and think to yourself :

"They may be laughing now, but we'll get them next time".

I'll grin and bear it. But it hurts. F*ck, I hate losing.

Justify the "Darlings of the tribunal comment" in light of:

- the number of suspensions we got last year
- Aaron Hamill PF last year
- Aaron Hamill v WBD this year
- Greg William's brownlow medals in light of the structural integrity of the noses of Tony Shaw and Sean Denahm
- Coleman getting rubbed out for the only time in his career in the 1949 PF (date right Dan?)

IE. You are a moron...

The Dutchman

Have to agree with you on the Aaron Hamill one. He was bloody lucky to get off the Prelim. Final one last year, but the a couple of weeks ago, what a joke. Must have a relative on the Tribunal, or big Jack is slinging them some money. Had it of been any number of other players (e.g. Micky Martyn), he would have got 3-4 weeks. Hamill is bloody blessed. Hopefully one day it will catch up with him.

What about Micky Martyn. The tribunal LOVES him. How come he didn't get suspended RIPPING Simon Black's EYE OUT in the Preliminary Final last year? He didn't even get fined!!!!

grendel you are a dickhead and obviously hate essendon so much you are blinded by the facts

dave i dont think lloyd even made contact with anything other that the ball
as for barnes b.johnson ran at him and came of second best, it was fair
but the afl have proven they can do what ever they want eg. hamill incident
so anything could happen

But no one doubts that Coleman hit Harry Casper in the 1951 preliminary final, as much as everyone at S&Don people like to whinge about it, and everything.

Don't here Collingwood supporters going on and on about Phil Carmen now do you.

If Glenn Archer was doing the Leg up Long thing, and had done damage to Rice as he has, it would have been defined as kicking and he would have been suspended end of story.

I saw the Loyd Kretiuk incident and don't hjink there was much in it.

But I thought the initial talk about Lloyd's possible report came from the meleee or just off it. I didn't see it and don't know who it involved but I didn't think it was the Kretiuk one.

Coleman hit Carlton full-back Harry Casper in the last home and away round of 1951. Coleman missed the entire finals series.

In the preliminary final, we played Collingwood and we were down by about 5 goals at three-quarter time (without Colemans, of course). We rallied and won by two points, 70-68. That would have been incredible. Imagine is being down by 5 goals this year without Lloyd, and winning by 2 points. That what it would have been like. And rememeber, 1951 was an era where scoring was lower !!

So, for the Bombers to make the 1951 GF without Coleman at all was a great effort, especially considering we only lost the GF to the Cats by 11 points.

Although it must be said that the Cats finished on top in 1951, and were a great combination. In fact, less than a year later, they won the 1952 GF and were in the middle of 23 consecutive wins, a record which would only be stopped midway through 1953.
