Wooden Spoon Certainties, Bookmark it if you want :D

I know 5 wins is considered a successful season down at Glenferrie but I'm willing to wager anything we'll better that next season.
Easily.

And to think way back in February when we played the Bears at Cararra we were destined for the spoon in '05!
There were a number who predicted Essendon's demise in February although I don't recall anyone going as far as the spoon, apart from the odd adolescent troller. I do recall a number of Essendon supporters posting witheringly sarcastic pieces directed at anybody who dared to suggest that Essendon might miss the '05 finals. There was even a thread commenced by Dave or a Dave plus numbers with the same indignant protestation. The doubters' predictions turned out to be more accurate than the zealot's. Sheedy is on record as recognising the cyclical nature of ladder positions. He recognises that Essendon is in the down cycle. His stated ambition is for Essendon to stay down as short a time as possible. The ageing of the top end of the list, the modest talent, so far revealed, among the newer recruits and the rise of other clubs may mean that Essendon is at the beginning of the down turn rather than at its end and the downturn might be longer than Sheedy would want. On the other hand, as one other poster noted, it's almost impossible to predict these days.

You're one of the better posters going around but we'll be back next year.

The facts say that one team that missed the 8 the previous year, makes the top four the next year.
This year it was Adelaide.

No-one gave the Crows a chance at the start of last season and were giving the same reasons as people writing off Essendon now.

There are a lot of similarities between the Crows of 2004 and Essendon of 2005.
Quality leadership group, good solid club and unheralded youngsters.

Of course I'm biased but I'm very confident next year.

By the way, the doggies will be a good side too next year,

How about making the 8?

What about your mob ?

7 wins ???
8 wins ???

If 5 wins is considered successful, you'll be tearing down the grandstands if you get out of priority pick zone.

I am happy with how my teams developing.

Loooking forward to watching the Ugly slide of the Bumblers
in the next few years.

Will be thouroughly entertaining to watch your supporters winge
and cry and moan aboout how it isnt fair and the AFL has screwed you.

15th in 2004, 14th in 2005.

Yeah, they're developing well.

Thank goodness we don't have the Hawthorn mediocre mentality at Windy Hill..

As soon as you put your house on them winning the flag :D

no one here is stating essendon are certainties for the flag or the 8, just you about essendon winning the spoon so why are you suddenly backing away from your "certainty" bet?

i see the usual Bomber trolls.........(Dice Man / Macpie et al).......have been keen to vomit over this thread as well.

Wonder if they will start a Tigers 2006 or Magpies 2006 thread?

As for my team next season..........a top 6 placing wont be a surprise.

Hey sprogstain, I simply said I expect them to finish between 8th and 14th, and going on season 2005, I think that is fairly reasonable.

Sprogstain hey.........? Geesh such typical Tiger Feral wit.

Why dont you dig up all the threads you contributed to saying the Bombers would DEFINITELY win the spoon in 2005? All those ones with ladders showing us Richmond in the top 4 & Essendon on the bottom.

Now can you remind me where your club finished this year in comparison to mine?

And out of interst you might care to nominate your clubs finishing position for 2006?

Above yours.

I'll wait till after the trade period to predict where Richmond will finish, but finals should be a goal.

2005:
Richmond 12th
Essendon 13th.

geesh..........hardly bragging rights stuff is it?

You certainly are a very dull spark, in fact I wouldnt even say you had a spark, more just a thud, a very dull thud.

Where did I boast any bragging rights nuff nuff?

I simply said we finished above you, nothing more and nothing less.

It's up to you how you choose to process that information.

A dull spark hey............there you go again........such wit.

Well now that you have changed your username after being banned from BigFooty for your trollish behaviour.........perhaps you should do a 'search' on posts submitted by your old username that gleefully derided the demise of my team in your very small mind.
