Who should the mighty Bombers be looking at bringing in for next year? Is there anyone confirmed that we've got our eye on? I know Travis Boak's name was thrown around a bit, but expect to see him in a Cats jersey next year. I'm personally thinking another key forward, which could allow Hurley to go back more often, or even stay there. What do you think?

in regards to Boak, he's very close to signing with port according to various sources, But they want the deal done by the night of their BNF (dunno when that is), so if it drags out beyond that, we could/should be right in there.

I'd love to have him, but it's pretty much Between Geelong and Port isn't it?

This didn't need a new thread. You are not a special snowflake.
If it remains all about purely the type of acquisition and revolves around the poll, then it can run its race.

If it just turns into more of the standard drafts/trading chat, we'll merge.

would putt be rookied as part of our back up ruckman plan?
have seen a bit of putt and im not convinced he has enough mongrel in him to make it against the big blokes. I think looking at young state league ruckmen who can compete like their life depends on it is a good option though. A real pity we didn't pick up Tom Campbell last year, he would have been ideal for that role.

From Bendigo, surely Duscher has served his apprenticeship and must be rookied. I also like Shinners and Freezer as back line support.

More on point to the thread, you would think drafting JD will mean we'd be looking at midfield options thereafter. Our forward line will be heavily stocked with Gumby/JD/Ryder/Hurley/Crameri/.

Drafting a pure mid with solid foot skills, who is not a flanker that we'll be converting into a mid, should be a high priority IMO.

Bellchambers, Hille, Ryder in there for good measure as well. Don't think we need any backup rucks mate
This is exactly why we need back up rucks. We only have 3 on the list- One with a ruptured ankle ligament, meaning an interrupted pre-season, another that looks like he's finished and one supremely talented one. A well balanced list has 4-5 ruckmen on it
