well the grudge natch was played and won by raiders..yes there was a few ducks made for the warriors...the raiders did have the nelly boys but if warriors could hold there catches it may have been a different game.a special mention to super scorer who did a great job after missing out a game with either side.just a litte dig at the raiders captain.you left us back in the game!!!!! just remember anything is possible in c grade and you shouldn't let the game go!!!!

yes yes good win to the raider boys in the first ever silver back cup... yes ducks a plenty in the warriors scorecard. now reggie u cant point out the raiders had the nelly boys cause im sure the teams u have beaten would be saying yes warriors had wazza playing after he scored a ton, we r the same as u guys if players cant play 2 weeks of cricket they play thirds in the one dayers so players r not missing out and u r rite about ur catches dropping the nelsons 3 times each, tell me is tangles taking catching practice over there on thursdays. All in all good day of cricket wif a good bunch of blokes and one bloody good scorer.

Raiders C grade was shafted at the weekend when Lavi made 3 extremely dubious (bordering on cheating!) caught behind decisions not out, that cost us the game. The league will be notified in due course. Fair enough that when players umpire their own team that they give only plum LBW decisions if at all but when there are blatant edges off the bat given not out thats not on. Nelson played and made a ton but lavi had their chances to get him out. He is a week to week proposition at best, travels up from Melbourne, doesn't train and plays to help his club out. As for some of the guys who are missing out they are either unavailable with work and/or don't train themselves. I see Warren Hamilton, Chris Burnett from Warriors and Kane Rheinberger from North Albury have played C Grade this year and they are far to good for that standard also. People also seem to forget that Nelly made a duck against Kiewa and you guys dropped him and his brother 3 times each so you cant complain too much about getting beaten. The club has taken a firm stance this year that if you cant commit for the season you only get a game in C Grade at best.:)

Barny will need someone to step up after Doolan leaves. When you take someone out of a line up who makes fifty % of the teams score, it will leave a big hole. They should have enough points on the board to stay in the finals race, how far they go is another matter.
I have heard there is a fast bowler heading back to the border in the new year and he and a few other additions, should help Wodonga bulldogs be a bit more competitive. So the relegation race may not be over yet.
Reggie, when you see Doey, check out the shiner. X-mas photos will be a treat this year. He practised what he preached and kept his EYE on the ball. (or was it ball on the eye).:rolleyes:

i spoke to doey today and gee his eye is blacker the brother lloyd!!!! i'm sorry i got my nelli's confused i thought one lived here???? and i thought he was playing 2 weeks in a row.they are hard to tell apart.with wazza playing c'grade he played on one leg and we were short.chris burnett played because he couldn't play the week before. it's been tough with numbers so far but hopefully we can get everyone back on the oval and have a real crack in c'grade.i will admit catching is a weak point of our game. it's all about inproving every part of our game.but we are raising a bit of cash in the process.so how did the luge go TC???? we had a few decisions go against us on the weekend but it's c'garde at it's best when that happens.:cool::cool:

Get off your soapbox T.C, I can hear the violins palying in the background. Don't try and compare Raiders to Warriors. We are picking from 2 sides from 27 players maximum. C Grade have played with 10 in 3 games and 9 in one. We don't get to leave anyone out by choice. C grade is about enjoying yourself. Don't like sides cheating when they umpire though. Sympathy to Raiders if that was the case.

Understand where you are coming from HTB but we fielded a side with a 14, 15 and three 16 year olds so some weeks we are not flush with numbers ourselves. Although I'd rather have the kids who love playing and show more commitment than some of our senior players, A and B graders included.:thumbsu:

Hopefully in a couple of years we'll have some teenagers to call on. I think a lot of clubs are feeling the pinch regarding regular avilability of players.

Unfortunately part of the merger almost completely cut back the exposure of the Wodonga and District clubs. This is unfair but the 2 comps are still essentially ABCA and WDCA, why not field Provincial and District teams in the Ensign Cup and send two sides to Country Week? It would make for a good rivalry, would increase the exposure of the District comp and help retain relegated club's players when they still have Rep honours and can still play against the best players of other comps.:confused::confused:

This is exactly why wdca clubs voted NO for the merger when it was previously discussed.
as some of the older wdca players say it has been a takeover with the only benefits going to abca.
The comp will never get any stronger while the gentleman in charge is running it as the bloke is still living in the 50s.

You shouldn't talk about Erdeljac that way:D But seriously the clubs had the choice and they choose to go for the merger. The two comps were building a nice rivalry in the Ensign Cup with Wodonga taking the honour's in one of last season's games prior to the merger. They're junior sides were also defeating them in some age groups. Now it is a 'unified' comp so every club should be treated equally regardless of which comp they played in:)

Well if you guys wernt such hicks in your approach to cricket you might get a decent story written about you. I dont know why your complaining anyway because you guys can't even get a first grade team together. Do you want them to write a story about your second grade team and how their dominating provinicial third grade sides??? Sure i would wanna read that :thumbsd:!! Stop being soft and step up and field an A grade side. Howlong and New City can do it why cant you blokes.

hey hooky calm down big guy!!!!!! i would think howlong would have pulled out if they had the chance.they looked healthy until the week before the season starting then the ship went down and had no players.with the provincal thirds they want to play in the district grade so thats there decision.so district comp is full of hicks well thats funny when the red and blue have players who look like ned kelly???? we stated from the word go how how club was looking and thats that!!!! not like a few clubs who put teams in every grade possible the pull them out at the last minute!!!! so hooky if you wanted a response i'm sure you will get from a few others:eek::eek::eek::eek:

Didn't hear much sympathy last season when our A Grade team were getting routed every innings because we were no where near the standard. OK if we had a team of youngsters gaining experience, but not much fun for a group of players near the end of their careers who have tried hard for years at that level and just want to enjoy their last few years of cricket. So Hooky, or ist is Sooky? Get your facts right and worry about your own backyard. No one at Warriors is after any publicity. We are just battling to have a club to play for. The comment about the Border Mail was about coverage of the District A grade comp. which is a legitimate competition regardless of your opinion.

hey hooooooky how did you go one the weekend???? more to the point how did c grade go!!!!!!!!!!!! have been told it's a top8 finals in c grade......so if the nelsons play and dj doesn't captain you are a chance!!!!!! i see luge got a few on the weekend.so how did nth albury look guys????

Raiders had a good win in A grade against the so called best batting line up in the comp (Albury Titans) minus Leigh Clarke. Luge was telling me North had a pretty fair bowling attack better than most of the other club's 2nd grade sides. Lunk was still running in off the long run, swinging it in and still surly. The game started poorly with late withdrawals of Tommy Kite and Inzy. Very strange for the ultra committed TK to pull out on the morning of a game. The side doesn't need the Nelson's to play only for everyone to step up to the plate. I think the boys are going to have to get to training a start having a crack.:thumbsu:

get over the nelsons. its called having 3 grades and letting blokes play wen they can. use guys the most should realise that the most only havin 2 lower grades and no a grade u only play who is rite to play in any grade no matter who they r the quicker u cum to terms wif that the better just remember that use may have been getting flogged last year in A grade but least use were once a respected club.

hey super wog or is it crazy wog????? i think we are still respected by alot of clubs in district.the reason we still have respect is because we didn't fold and give up.it's the same old story when other teams are on losing and pointing the finger the wrong way.i was just asking if the nelson's were going to play c grade for the rest of the season.????? but's thats ok i see they are playing up the grades.so north look strong maybe they are playing below there grade???? they could be in district b grade who knows???? so how's retirement going super wog????? i bet the raiders are dirty they didn't give you a chance even though you can't train!!!! with kizzle and inzy don't show up.

so lunk bowled well thats sound like a challenge for our last game of the year!!!!!!:o:o
