So if Waner goes home should we fly Maxy over? Bat him at 7/8 and can bowl a few overs, would probably create a wkt per innings with his fielding too.

Christ on a bike! NO to Maxwell. The bloke is 35 and hasnt played since who knows when. If we are shunting Maxwell into the side then we are rooted.

Enough with the Glenn Maxwell already.

Did Murphy not surprise you??? Players need to be given opportunity.
Opportunity when there was no clear second spinner, and why the selectors took Agar in the initial squad if they were going to play Murphy ahead of him, as well as fly in Kuhnemann, is just laughable.

Carey performed as well as would have been hoped for since debut. Had a great summer behind the stumps (which unlike bowlers and batsmen, is not significantly influenced by the quality of the opposition). Averages 40 in test cricket, enhanced by same poor quality opposition over summer, but still better than the 30 that Inglis averages at state level.

There is literally no case to drop Carey. It would almost be a worse decision than dropping Head for the first test.

Or is it that great an idea that your simple mind just can’t adequately comprehend it? :)

And FTR, we are bent over with our pants our around our ankles already, in case you haven’t noticed

He’s keeping quite well, that’s a big tick over there.

It would be like the Pies bringing back Travis Cloke

Can we run a bracket on voting on the most embarassing Australian cricket moments of the last decade?
Contenders off the top of my head:
Sweepgate
Trent Bridge 60
Destruction for sub 100 by South Africa last time they were out
England 0/150 in response to 98 all out on Boxing Day (followed by sprinkler at conclusion of the test)
47 All out
Headingley 2019
Losing 3-0 to Sri Lanka 2016
Homeworkgate India 2014
Bowled out for 112 chasing 188 India 2nd test
Various UAE debacles vs Pakistan (including Misbah Ul-Haq setting world's fastest test century)
Sandpapergate and associated 4th test debacle in South Africa
India beating us at home with C grade team members like Shardul Thakur

Sweepgate number 1, and by some way, it was a game we should’ve won and words escape me how it happened, worst batting performance I’ve seen in over 40 years of watching international cricket.

The basics of batting haven’t changed in well over 100 years…keep out the good balls and hit the bad balls.

When I was growing up it was pretty much 'get your eye in and build an innings'

Attack is the best form of defence, seems to be the attitude these days and grinding out an innings isn't cool to do anymore.

Sometimes you have to concede that a bowler might bowl 3-4 good overs in a row but soon enough they will bowl a loose ball and thats when you try to switch the momentum in your favour.

Even the ole ‘if it’s on the stumps block it, have a swing if it’s not’ method would’ve been better, s**t, telling the batsmen to bat opposite handed would’ve been a better strategy, granted some did try that, 3 or 4 fell reverse sweeping lol, couldn’t make this s**t it up if you tried, it was like India against a mediocre under 14s side who were told they’d get a thousand dollars for each successful sweep shot they made, if a Pakistani team collapsed the same way you’d be looking at betting patterns.

Homework gate was embarrassing. Arthur lost the players and pat Howard potting players,

So they aren't even listening to the coach, congrats guys on firing someone who criticizes you to bring in someone you can walk all over.

This team is a joke.

McDonald confessed that Australia’s batters abandoned their plans in the second innings — strategies formulated before the match were forgotten, with a baffling reliance on cross-bat stroke play backfiring dramatically.

Steve Smith, Matthew Renshaw and Alex Carey each fell cheaply to the sweep shot, which can be an effective tool in the subcontinent — it negates the side spin that thwarted Australia during the series opener in Nagpur, where players were repeatedly beaten on the inside and outside edge.

LOL no, let it go. He wasn't up to it last time he was in the team and is now only playing his first long form game in years.

What I saw at Junction oval yesterday he is not fit and has said at this stage he is only 80% and will not bowl and only field in the slips.Seem to have got a bad LBW call yesterday but doubt whether they will even consider him for the 1 day series in India.Coming back from a serious injury.

FFS maxwell isnt getting a game - he's had one inning back since breaking his leg, even said he is only 80% in his preperation atm

And he isnt any good anyway, especially with little match practice. Move on people.

BuT hE mAdE a CeNtUrY iN iNdia - (so did 3 others that game and scores of 451 and 603 in a draw - real tough pitch)

Take out his 104 and his average is 19 (only 26 with the 100).....woo-*******-hoo

Agar already taken Harris spot as the drinks guy?

Hazlewood only last 2 tests helping agar and is sick of it
There has to be some consistency in selection policy and whatever people might think of him, Harris is probably entitled to be a bit shitty if he's not next in line.
