I was going to buy the game on sale anyway after Randy’s initial comments, now I might be even more petty and wait for a couple of sales. He’s managed to make things worse for himself.

Just read on reddit that apparently the above posts information is DLC which will be included in the Super Deluxe Edition but it will be available separately post-release. But the gaming industry is pretty cooked anyway. I mean just take a look at GameStop’s exclusive.

Yeah it sucks, haha. I spent the last 3-4 years going through my backlog of games on Steam and I'm almost at the point where I was going to start getting games much more newly released, but current trend seems to suggest pricing is going up.

I love the Borderlands games, but a bit much to invest in what they're offering for all the content. So I guess it's wait for a sale in a year or so for a GOTY edition or something

Gaming prices have gone crazy. $100 for a low end standard edition video game or between $150-200 for the deluxe edition of the same video game. And if you want to play online with your mates (GTA, Call of Duty, Borderlands are some of the most popular video games to play online)? Then you’re looking at spending between $100 to $215 for PS Plus, which is a mandatory subscription to be able to play PS5 games online.

So Borderlands 4 won’t just cost the buyer $120 (PS Store price for the standard edition), it will cost you a minimum of $220 to be able to play with your mates online. Nuts.

I'm not overly offended given Borderlands has traditionally had 4 to choose from, this time you get 4 plus additional 2 with future DLCs.

I'd find it less egregious if they were included in the $160 version which includes DLC and not the $200 version.

Yep, and Krieg, who I used on my second or third playthrough.

As long as there's four characters to choose from in the base game, I'll let it slide.

Ah that's right. I couldn't remember who the second DLC character was. I remembered buying Gaige seperately years ago who sounded like the best character to play as because of her Deathtrap.

Mechromancer Pack (Included Gaige and was $10 USD)
Psycho Pack (Included Krieg and was $10 USD)

Borderlands 2 had tonnes of DLC, majority of which were added in for free with game of the year editions and such.

From what I can see the expensive BL4 one, is just including DLC and the vault hunters (for when they come out).
