I don't think it is Sheedy that is boring. It is the post match press conferences that are boring.
With the exception of the occaional bout of sincerity from Schwab they are all the same. Full of cliches and not much else.
You can't blame the coaches. They are asked the same bloody questions week in and week out. They don't want to rubbish their own players, they can't bag the umpires and lately they can't even have a go at the opposition players or coach.
So what is the point of these media events? How many of these things do you think Sheedy has done? 300? 400? Of course he is going to talk crap now, he has nothing new left to say. And neither should he.
If my club's coach went to a press conference and talked openly about game plans, individual player tactics, possible injuries being carried by players, etc.., etc.. I would not be very happy. Surely these things are best kept confidential to the club. After all it is a big money business now.
Gees you cant even get Colonel Sanders to let on about his 11 herbs and spices after 50 years so why do these reporters think they can get secrets out of the coaches?
Do away with the post match press conferences I say. They are boring.
And if a coach has the audacity to chew on a jellybean during the press conference, just wait for the media to jump on him.
Frankly, the grudges held for coaches by some sections of the media is tiresome and as pointless as many of you think the after match press conference is.
