dymv997.gif

1. Introduction
2. Akuma no Uta
3. Jane
4. Klatter 1
5. Naki Kyoku

think this is mostly just a bunch of un-released/ old tunes re-done w/ merzbow. will have to check it out.

2. Stephen O'Malley & Atsuo"Uroborus Circuit" LP

23/02/2011 Release

ixlp0008.gif

Uroborus was the result of a 2 day tracking session by Atsuo/Boris and Stephen O'Malley in Southern Studios, London September 2006. While the pair was meeting to do press for the "Altar" album they took the chance to work on 2 main pieces of music centering around the use and manipulation on acoustic feedback purely. No instruments were used on this recording. The LP was mixed by You Ishihara (ex. White Heaven, The Stars) and mastered by Soichiro Nakamura at Peace Music resulting in sounds akin to deep birdcall or flocking/swarming, and a psychological meditation on the pleasure and capability of visualization through music.

deepbirdcallcore? another sub-genre pioneered by boris :thumbsu:

3. Boris - New as yet untitled Album LP
16/03/2011 Release

na_b.jpg

1. Party Boy
2. Hope-Hope-
3. Flare

5. Black Original
6. Guitar dark
7. Spoon
8. Tu, la la
9. Pardon?
10. Looprider
11. (予定情報)他 収録曲数未定

fair to say they have already wrapped up sexiest album artwork of 2011. :thumbsu: most psyched for this. black original has been out for a while and party boy was released just the other day:

saw this poorly translated text on another site:

In collaboration with Mr. Narita who knows the underground measure up very, Boris further boost with the experimental side of pop, guitarist Wata and only female vocalist of intensive, back in the specification should be called J-POP The work breaks new ground. Extreme multi-dimensional pop sound in all directions with no previous experience in the world is anyone still listening enough answer.

seems like they are going for the whole experimental pop thing. dunno how it will come off but at least they are keeping things interesting, i guess.

the heavy rocks thing confused me for a sec...

im very excited about this.

You play your vinyls ?

Mine never see the light of day. I was tempted with Teitanblood but resisted. 99% of the time though, straight into the collection, never to be seen again really except showing them off once a year or something

love it.:heart: best tune of the year so far. :thumbsu:
it's really cool hearing some of the reworked akuma no uta songs with merzbow as well. :thumbsu:

also, new tune, Hope, from Attention Please:

sounds similar to coltar of the deepers who are cool. :thumbsu:

You mention Coaltar Of The Deepers, the first song i ever heard by them was Serial Tear which almost literally blew me out of the room. I thought this could be my new favourite band. Wasn't to be, but they do have some great stuff

Most recently seen on our shores in 2010 playing two sold out shows at Sydney’s Vivid Festival, Japanese quartet Boris will be returning to Australia to visit the entire east coast in March, 2012.

Boris, have long been celebrated for their ability to reinterpret a multitude of musical genres into a sound of their own, and revered for rattling concert-goers to the core, with their high-volume intensity and colossal crescendos.

Formed in the early ‘90s as a four piece just-for-fun endeavor with the sonic template of influences like Melvins and Earth, Boris hit its stride when they released their 1996 debut as a trio Absolutego. The group quickly developed a reputation for ground-rattling heavy, melodic music and went on to release nearly 20 studio albums, as well as numerous collaborative albums, EPs and singles on various labels throughout the world.

Next year, Australian audiences will experience just how deftly Boris can tackle seemingly disparate musical elements and forge new sounds that may seem inconceivable to other artists.

Don’t miss one of Japan’s most breathtaking and unique musical exports, this coming March.

Boris 2012 Australian Tour Dates

So Boris fans - direct me to the album I'm going to like. I've heard some stuff which was brilliant but other stuff didn't quite grab me. I'm more into the heavy, stoner side of things.

BTW Roky Erickson and now Boris at the Corner Hotel in March. Shaping up as an awesome month

generally speaking;

stoner rock stuff:

Heavy Rocks [2002] - this is their most stoner rock stuff
Akuma no Uta [2003]
Pink [2005]
Smile [2008]

experimental/drone stuff:

Absolutego [1996]
Amplifier Worship [1998]
Flood [2000]
boris at last -feedbacker- [2003]
Dronevil [2005]

it's all pretty heavy though.
if you're up for an experience, give Absolutego a listen (no pausing :D).
it was as good as drone doom ever got imo.
