hey cats fan!
How is life at the top send us postcard
I need a question that must be answered.
As we all know as fans that we have nicknames that only people at our club that only we would know what the mean.
Why does the Geelong Faithful call Corey Enright "Borris"?
I would love to know why?

I did hear something along the lines of that it was his tanties which were tatamount to those of a certain german tennis player at the time... though the timing doesn't look right to me.

He has had the nickname from the year dot, which rules out goldeneye.

Wasn't it because he and Joel Corey were both taken in the 99 draft and they wanted to avoid confusion by giving them both completely unrelated nicknames - Joel got "Smithy" and Enright got "Boris". So many different tales out there

Quote from last Friday's MX

"Just Call Me Boris"

Asked about the 2 Corey's

"His is Smithy,he has two first names so we gave him a last name. And mine is Boris, which I have had since I was little. I still can't get to the bottom of the story as to say where it came from and I am still trying to find it out. Whoever I ask keeps sending me onto the next person. It's all a bit of a mystery."

IIRC it was in a yearbook (maybe 07?) - he had so much energy that everyone in that little town he grew up in called him 'Boom Boom', which was also Boris Beckers nickname. Ergo Boris.
