As much as I like J-Bo, he's let his teammates down with this, IMO, regardless of whether he's acting in self-defence or not. What happens if, god forbid, Gibbo and Schoenmaker injure themselves in the next few weeks? J-Bo is no longer available to provide key defender depth because of a completely avoidable incident (ie., he could have gone out and enjoyed himself but been home at an earlier hour, not still looking for a way home at 2.45am).

That is, entirely the point. We have a serious tilt at a flag this year and we now have one less option.

Why do we now have one less option?
Brad Sewell said on 360 last night that contrary to media reports Boumann was not injured in the incident.
Has he been suspended by the club?

Hey brother, the website shows:

Injury update as at 25 July
Amos Frank (calf) - 1-2 weeks
Jarrad Boumann (hand) - TBC
Lance Franklin (hamstring) - 1 week
Sam Grimley (finger) - 1-2 week
Michael Osborne (knee) - season
Alex Woodward (knee)
- season
Andrew Boseley (shoulder) - season

He was a gamble pick in the first place...know a couple of Dogs supporters in the know, who advised that he had a few off-field issues...

To be fair to the Hawks, Boumann was last on the Bulldogs list a couple of years ago and had a very good season at Box Hill last year (as a Box Hill-listed player). I'm sure the Hawks went through their due diligence with Boumann (which would likely include speaking to the Box Hill coach and senior players) before deciding to trade for Boumann with GWS (he was a GWS pre-listed player).

Hey bro,
Strange considering Sewell said he wasnt hurt and the hand was fine:confused:

Has there been any more information come out about what happened? Like was he breaking team rules being out that late or did he provoke the other blokes? If he did neither of those things then it seems a bit harsh to be critical of the bloke and the hand injury (if real) is just unlucky.

Nah mate, Robbo asked "Apart from the hand, is he ok?" and Sewell responded with "yeah, he'll be fine".

The mere mention of 'hands' from Robbo resulted in Bourmann being instantly healed.

Yep- very aggressive and short tempered bloke. Especially on the piss, which he never really gave up even when a professional footballer.

This isn't the first incident of its kind he has been involved with. One thing the Dogs have been good at it keeping these sorts of incidents involving players out of the media.

Boumann vs Hall - who comes away with the chocolates?

In a fight? Hall easily.

I think to Hall's advantage he was a noteworthy player and his trangressions were on field so he was in the spotlight through it all.

Boumann on the other hand was a draftee acting up off-field and much easier to "hide". I wouldn't be surprised if the guys who he tangled with here had no idea who he was. He was probably just an angry guy with tough guy stickers to them.

Hi, perhaps provide some example of his indiscretions? I.e what were they and how were they dealt with private or public...

Nah, let's not go there.

We don't need rumour and innuendo about a current player being played out on the boards.

That's actually funny. If the rest of the posts were not deleted then there would have been perspective.
