Unless you get the full featured cover, it won't benefit you too much (or at least in NSW). Mine cost around $1500, but only on my top teeth for 10 months to fix up gaps and overbite. I have a good dentist :thumbsu:

I had mine for less than a year:D

I think Ive gotta get my wisdom teeth taken out in January and I really really dont want to:(

Yeah, I think I'll get mine taken out too, otherwise it stuffs up whatever the braces have done. You ever get phantom pains where your wisdom teeth are supposed to be?

Got them yesterday. They're kinda pissing me off. Not used to a mouth full of metal. Started hurting late last night, and it's hurting more today. Hopefully that's not for too long.

I keep thinking the stuff near my back teeth is food so I keep trying to get it out with my tongue, and I accidently stabbed myself yesterday.

they'll hurt for a few days

but you will get used to them in a couple of weeks:thumbsu:

i've had mine for a few months and i'd probably feel wierd without them

Make dental wax your best friend, otherwise you'll have new ulcers every couple of days. Oh, and if you do sports, wear a mouthguard or something so that the wire doesn't come out or the bracket break. Because then the dentist has to cement it back on.. pain in the ass.

I reckon I'll have an ulcer in the morning. One of the wires has been poking the inside of my mouth.

PS. Brad, did you have them last season?

nah, got em a few month ago

the wires are basterds for a while, use the wax if it hurts heaps

and you will get heaps of ulcers (well i did)

have fun:thumbsu:

Getting mine of at the end of the year i think

Eventually, you wont even notice that they are there, exept

. When they change the wires- Your teeth will be sore for a couple of days. Bring on the jelly
. When they forget to trim the wire - Usually they do, but sometimes the ends can poke your gums. I have not used the wax, but just got over the pain, and cut the wire myself

Apart from that they fairly non existant. Almost no one notices i have them and often i forget aswell. Eating shouldnt restrict you, but getting things out can be a bugger, depending what they are (like gum).

Although in saying this, i am getting elastics soon, and i have heard they are a massive chore

I wish someone could tell my mum that I am allowed to drink things other than water. She tried to stop me from having a gatorade after indoor cricket. She's only letting me have one soft drink every 2/3 weeks. ****, I'm gonna have to start doing it behind her back.
She won't even let me have fruit tingles!

Just keep doing it and eventually she will stop trying.

They havn't really been an issue for me. If you want people to forget that you have them, don't change the colour of your bands (when you do you get people saying ''you have braces???''). I did have one complication with them though. Cricket ball in the mouth:p Was fielding at 1st slip to a spinner, and you know when theres a top edge off a cut shot and it just jumps up at you.. well the reflexes weren't great that day and I got a mouth full of ulcers for my trouble.

Bit of advice Seano, don't eat sticky stuff... mainly chewy lollies, Roll Ups etc. They will tear that shit apart.

You are much better off having a year and a half of sacrifice instead of breaking them a few times and having that time double.

dont eat apples unless cut, hard lollies(red skins), just mainly hard stuff

my wire at the back came off, when i ate a cold block of chocolate out of the fridge
