Happy to admit I was way off on this guy, he's far better than I thought after his cameos last year.
Hahaha now you’re replying to your own dribble, excellent. It’s like you are having a nice little conversation…with yourself!still prefer him over atkins or dalhaus in the foward line though.
he has a pretty good handball. I will give him that.

Those qualities seem to be prerequisites for our ‘small forwards‘ these days anyway. He's a limited player (poor kick penetration, poor overhead) but can find the ball and gives his best effort. Prefer him over Miers or Dalhaus.
Sorry this is the Brad Close thread. I think you're looking for the Luke Dahlhaus threadHow about his shimmy, roving of packs, snaps on goals.
he is weak to non existent in all. Lucky he doesn’t play foward pocket.
oh sh*t.
close should build up his fitness and aim to become a mid. It might suit him better.
Would probably be dragged for that in our forwardline anywayShortest bloke in the pack

Agree he is better then Burbury. He is more a Cory Gregson right now.Yes. After his first three games I had him down as another George Burbury. But he's really become much better than that.
It is a common weakness across our small fowards.Sorry this is the Brad Close thread. I think you're looking for the Luke Dahlhaus thread
Has played less than 20 games and is above average for pressure acts, f50 tackles, score involvements, effective disposals. Bit glass half emptyTurns 23 next month and still yet to average 1 goal a game. Needs to improve further to be any more than a depth player
I know right, why can't every small forward be Eddie Betts! It's not that hard!It is a common weakness across our small fowards.
Don’t Lower your self to silly strawmen arguments. You are better then that.I know right, why can't every small forward be Eddie Betts! It's not that hard!

I think you're right on the pack marks. He has 4 guys in that forward line over 194cm. Needs to stay front and centre or out the backSort of indicates he can leap and mark, perhaps its not his best talent, perhaps he is just playing the role and has been told its not his job to fly against our big guys. What I want to see is what he is like when around the ball and maybe even moving into the backline.
The thing I am not over wrapped in ...his preponderance to wear the long sleeves. Why? Is it a lack of definition or another reason.

In an interview i'm sure he said he just liked the long sleeves as a junior, and it's a habit now. No real reason he does it.Sort of indicates he can leap and mark, perhaps its not his best talent, perhaps he is just playing the role and has been told its not his job to fly against our big guys. Seeds - have you ever coached Football?
Sure he's not as flashy as some with a "shimmy" but he plays his role and his attributes - clean hands , quality disposal, reading of the play and decision making are exceptional for a guy with a handful of games. He's building nicely and is exactly the type we need around our other forwards.
He's unselfish too - could have had a few more goals himself but has done the team thing on several occasions.
He's worth a lot more than the sum of his parts![]()

Yep we see in that footage where he has the longs on for Glenelg. In an interview i'm sure he said he just liked the long sleeves as a junior, and it's a habit now. No real reason he does it.
I don’t think reading of the play is exceptional. if they were he would be finding the ball more at hawkins, Rohan’s and Cameron’s feet. He never does. He doesn’t find much of the ball.Seeds - have you ever coached Football?
