I thought it was obvious, really i think it's funny that you're cracked the shits over something so little.

The point i was making was that dominating at a lower level doesn't automatically mean they're going to be good at the highest level.

Now pull your head in

You already know that he can cut it at the highest level.

Just a stupid post that added nothing to the thread.

Is he instantly going to be crap in Adelaide supporters eyes if he leaves in a few months? Good chance he's going.

Martin looks great when he's used properly, however Eade is insistent on leaving him wasting away in a pocket.
I think the game has passed Eade by. And to be fair Omeara & Crouch have been killed by injuries

Would be a disaster if we lost him. Absolute bullshit the positions we are in with Jenkins and Crouch. Our second key forward is being offered 750k and Crouch's injuries have thrown a spanner in the works. He had 40 ****ing disposals against Hawthorn at in his second year for **** sake. I don't care if we pay a bit overs for what he's worth at the moment, can't afford to lose a talent like him.

Surprised if they don't stay. Do you guys have the money to keep them? Surely you can front load jenkins contract so it dosn't impact you cap in the next few. You lost danger so surely you have some extra coin.

Very unfortunate in the talent you have lost over the years. No other club has drafted so well (without bottoming out and the tippett draft restrictions) and has lost so much talent.

Surely with Jenkins it's a matter of not wanting to, rather than can they. 750k a year for the fourth best player in your forward line... ew. Crows have the worst midfield in the comp, they should try and turn Jenkins into an absolute gun midfielder (Neale or draft).

Don't think they can afford to lose Crouch. They need someone to help Sloane, Douglas and co will only get them so far.

Crouch averaged more possesions and got more Brownlow votes than JOM in their first year.
He is a gun.

Who seems to be very injury prone (or am I thinking of the wrong Crouch ?). Is it bad luck or is his body just not up to it or is it something different ??

Nah thats the one.
He has had feet problems as well as hamstrings.
Just as he starts to get a run something happens.
But there are alot of players who have issues at his age and then get over them.
He is just a part of the GWS mini draft curse.

Is it preparation/attention to detail on rehab - or just unlucky ?

We have Clay Smith on our side, who just cannot get his knee right. I personally don't think he'll ever get a decent crack at it. A lot of clubs will be worried Crouch is the same. Is a talent, from what I can remember...

This (and also O'Meara and Swallow) might end up like the Joel Smith situation we went through in 1997. Smith was taken at pick 5 in what was seen as the best draft ever (1994) until the 2001 draft came along and he showed why in his first three years with us (by his 3rd year- at just 20yo- he was a big part of the reason we finished top of the ladder and was seriously, seriously talented), but then he did his knee really badly about 3/4 through that 1997 season and because his knee was so bad (he missed 20 months of footy with it) and Hawthorn made him an offer he "couldn't refuse", we lost him, at just 20yo (for nothing), because we weren't willing to match or get near enough to their offer, when there was doubt he would ever get back to even playing again.

It's a really sucky situation for a club to be in.

In his last 10 games of that first season the lowest number of disposals he had in any of them was 22 and on two occasions he had 31 (as well as a 29 and two 28's), which was seriously good.

Only played the 11 games the next year, but had 40 in one of them (against Hawthorn, with 21 of them contested , plus 9 clearances!!), 30 and two goals in another, another 30, and a 28 with a goal. Also had a game of just 22 disposals, but 17 of them were rated as contested!

So yeah, he is seriously good and as far as actual talent goes, at least the equal of the likes of Treloar.

His numbers definitely stack up very well with O'Meara's in their respective first seasons: http://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/...pid2=3632&fid1=P&fopt1=2013&fid2=P&fopt2=2013

Crouch arguably ahead in their 2nd seasons as well: http://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/...pid2=3632&fid1=P&fopt1=2014&fid2=P&fopt2=2014

So he is worth more to us to keep on our list and hope his body comes good than trading him.
The Crows will want to keep him, and I dont think Brad wants out, but there may be a bit of difference with the money side of things. Brad wants what he thinks he will be worth healthy and playing and Adelaide paying him what they think he has produced on field. Of course some other clubs who want him will pay more to get him out of Adelaide.

Who really knows. The club has said he hasnt missed any rehabs or the like but they did say he is that old style country footballer who loves thr game and just really wants to play footy. He is a footy nut and watches every game he can and knows all the other players etc. There are other players like Wingard who dont really care about the game as much and would rather watch an NBL game than another AFL game.

Very Similar to Nathan Freeman.

Correct. Although at least Collingwood got something for Freeman and unlike Freeman, Smith had shown a hell of a lot at AFL level at a very young age and he was more of a sure-thing. He was a properly "elite talent", whereas Freeman is more of an "elite athlete" who can also play pretty well. I would happily give up our first this year and at least our 2nd next year as well (if not our first) for someone as good as Smith was looking like being pre knee (but who didn't have any injury issues).

It's hard to tell from the outside. Their have been rumours that Clay has been struggling with his rehab, but after three knee reconstructions - you can understand that a little.... It's a shame when good players don't get the chance to get on the park....
