That is just an idiotic suggestion, the AFL won’t screw us because we didn’t trade with you
EC..The IQ's have dropped around here. you really would want to hope some of these GC fans don't end up being like Carlton fans where they get their win every year in October but come April, they are hanging for October ;)

Brad Crouch isn't nearly a big enough player to warrant a big money ambassador role. But i can certainly see the AFL doing something like that to try save the suns. Sign a big name player at 750 and they might just through in an additional 250 outside the cap.

They're desperate for them not to go under, at the moment they are odds on not to exist in 5-10 years (shipped to Tassie)

Even if it’s $750k, it will be 5 years which will see us get compo after our first pick and they certainly aren’t going to do it so we get screwed on the compo

Adelaide have every right to get the best deal for a contracted and required player. Just like we did with CC, Lever and McGovern, we will get his full worth. The PSD will have nothing to do with it.
He will win our B&F and would be GCs best mid, by a long way. For that they will have to pay.
If they think they can keep pick 1 and 2, as well Luko and Rankine and just offer us their sloppy seconds then they learn a valuable lesson.

You don't give away your future for a player like Crouch, especially if you are trying to show the kids that the culture has changed at Gold Coast. These guys will grow together if they can keep them all.

Crows should look to Port in what's possible in drafting in one year where they have secured rozzee, butters and dursma.. holding onto hope for pick 6 or whatever they expect to get if crouch leaves as a rfa next year sounds like putting all your eggs in 1 basket, and that egg has already had 5 players picked ahead of him in a comprised draft. They are in full rebuild and if that one pick is not the messiah, and indeed is a very naughty boy, they are in for another 20 years of pain. GC could offer 2 first rounders, and possibly a swap of second rounders, giving them multiple chances of securing young talent

The crows are simply better off waiting out next year. Get the band 1 compo and see how these GC boys go when Luko requests a trade back to SA.
Well Luko is probably worth 2 1st rounders. Therefore if Adelaide and Gold Coast wait a year then Crouch can go to Gold Coast for nothing and Adelaide give up their 1st rounder and Compo pick for Luko. Gold Coast are in a no lose situation if they wait.

He’s under contract but who knows what your new coach’s opinion will be?

If he knows Brad wants out, he might just say let’s clear the decks with those not invested? Your club seems to be doing a lot of that already?
I can't think of many coaches at any level that would be coming in and saying..yeah you might be our very best player but I don't want you. Then if Brad says he like to be traded, the new coach - no doubt in conjunction with list management will say to GC Brad is under contract and a required player - offer us something we will accept which is big overs (and mid range picks won't cut it so it would need to be maybe Lukosius or one of those top 2 picks or maybe a pick this year and the 2020 1st rounder?). Otherwise I have no doubt that they would thank GC for their enquiry and Brad Stays..just like Kelly from Geelong last eyar

What if next year Adelaide finish below GC..maybe they say to Luko - walk to the PSD draft

Then they start to deal with Port, where his best mate plays. Given the exodus you guys are facing this year, odds are he'd chose us anyway.
What if Lukosius say he wants to play at Adelaide and not port?..then it makes no difference what port might offer..all hypothetical but if we are throwing up scenarios, this is certainly one considering he was a big crows supporter growing up

Its a professional decision now. Polec was a port supporter who left because he made a professional decision.

Given the state your list(club) and ways things are shaping the odds of him making that decision is extremely unlikely. He did his training in his draft year here and now life long mate Rozee is playing here. If he does make a decision like its more likely that it'll be the other way around.

The difference is Polec had his best mate Smith playing at Adelaide when he left Brisbane but chose port because he grew up following them and ended up spending a number of years at Port before they low balled him and he left. And with all the departures, you don't think adelaide will have pl;enty of money to put a big offer Lukosius' way if they wanted to? And in this case with Lukosius, if Brad Crouch does look at a possible move then I'd think there is a very high chance Lukosius name will be raised by our list management team. There would be a far bigger chance of GC letting him leave if they think he will go in 12 months than splitting picks 1 or 2 this year by trading one out - although stranger things have happened

Im sure you would raise his name, but GC will say add in pick 4 or Matt Crouch. Do you think the Crows will give up that to get him this year ? The Suns wont even consider trading Luko unless its for a mammoth deal like that.

Theres more to it than just Money, as Tom Lynch proved leaving much bigger money to go to Rich and Motlop taking less to come here rather than go to the Crows.

P.S. They were mates, but Luko and Rozee are genuinly best mates (not the be all and end all, but a good start)

You know that Motlop story was fake don’t you? Reid came out and said Motlop didn’t even do a medical at the crows so they had not even gotten to the point of making an offer. Good old Skeletor junior Cornes

What would you expect him to say after they so publicly him an "unbeatable offer". He toured the facilities at west lakes and didn't like what he saw. Cornes had nothing to do with that story.

Time for Bed Kane, you’ve got trade radio early in the morning :thumbsu:

Port is a bigger shitshow than the Crows with Hinkley in charge. Luko will stay, but in the event he leaves it wont be to Port. Thats for sure.

Not sure port was lowballing Polec, North offered him well overs
