Gold Coast will throw stupid money at him again next year, and won’t even him to sacrifice picks this time around.
If you’re Crouch it’s a huge opportunity to be the face of the club, and more than likely push up the ladder in the coming years with the plethora of young guys they have, and are just about to take in.
Maybe Gold Coast also then also offer their first next year for Matt?

A lot hinges on how Adelaide perform next year. If they continue to regress, he’d be hugely tempted to accept a huge Gold Coast offer, if not sound out a Melbourne based club.

yep tried for it at the end of the year. I doubt very much he was asking for a million dollars a year but his manager doing what managers do to try and force Adelaide to cough up for a big contract

He will get a five-year at the Gold Coast or elsewhere for more money, pending him running out another full season.
If Adelaide continue downward he’ll explore his options again, and see what transpires.

Seems desperate to get out of there according to the report. Next to no chance he is at Adelaide next year. Should make for an interesting dressing room atmosphere in 2020. Free agency period next year will be interesting with Crouch and Daniher on the move.

Honestly this just seems like Barrett and Mclure trying to say although it didn't go through we are not wrong and all this stuff happened but all parties involved will deny it.
At the end of the day multiple sources from the crouch camp and close to him said he would be at the crows in 2020. But Barrett and Co kept on going. Kind of like they went hard based on some poor info and back themselves into a corner and just had to put the heels in.
The only truth in all of this is his agent doing agent things and using the GC as a stalking horse to push up crouch's price with Adelaide.

Crouch is not worth close to 1mil if that's what you're saying. Clearly neither stkilda or gold coast, desperate for leadership and talent didn't think so. He's just an accumulator with no hurt factor who isn't as good as Tom Mitchell.
