First, Dick's only played six senior games so how anyone could possibly know if he's over-rated or not escapes me. Second, several of those memorable kicks in the games he did play, especially that one from the boundary to Lockyer in the goal mouth, would do anyone credit. Third, he seems to have the right attitude - confidence, team player, etc. Give him a couple of years in the ones and we'll see. Personally I think he's our replacement for Leon in a few years

Would love to see Brad given a go, from the day he has been drafted there has been alot of hype about the kid, and it would be good to see him put his talents to use on the big stage. We all know he has got some freakish abilities, and hopefully he recovers from that knee reco sooner rather than later.

Size is the question mark and will remain so throughout his career, but cetainly has a heap of talent and if he remains uninjured I expect him to be given his opportunity throughout the year and play at least a handful of games.

Not ready for round one but will get his chance.

Our recent trials with defensive zones suggests a speedy goal sneak able to rush that empty forward line will be very handy.

Re: his size. Early days Aaron Davey's speed and forward pressure tackling compensated for his slight build and if Dick mirrors those skillsets he's a strong chance in 2009 after a short time in the twos.

Johnno26's VFL practice report suggests Dick will be used as a burst player until he can build up his tank.

I don't know Didaka. Doesn't it depend on the amount of space in the forward line and if you attack around the flanks , go down the corridor OR most importantly attack through the back line? And if Goldsack gets in the way, well then......

You've also got to consider the flooding tactics used by Carlton. If Ratten doesn't want Dick to influence, especially when we thought he could be used to great personal advantage, then we seem to use last ditch-tactics. From there, the Blue's have control of all balls that come into their forward line, it's quite painful to watch.

Micky (Malthouse) loves Dicky!!!!!

It's official, first player MM mentioned on SEN this arvo as players most likely to improve was Brad Dick.

Others mentioned, Blight (will surprise), Sidebottoms (capable of high possesions), Beams (obvious signs) and Cox (handles each improve in level).

I knew all along MM loved Brad Dick, just had to be confirmed and it was.

I TOLD YOU SO.

I TOLD YOU SO.

Sorry, but my favourite young player is Brad Dick, and I've been waiting a while to see him back in the seniors.

We need him, we need pace and pressure when the ball drops in our forward line, we miss not having Leon running around there as much, and Dicky is the perfect replacement, Leon Davis MK II.

Good Call there about Dick and Does sound Like we Might See Blight Sooner then Later

Surprise inclusion for mine, but I do love watching him play. Looking forward to a strong showing this week. :) :thumbsu:

Bit surprising he is in so early, but heres hoping he can show us some forward defensive pressure, pace and his immaculate footskills.

If he can do a bit of the above he will be a real spark to the team.

Dick??? He's done next to nothing when he played nearly 2 years ago! Has had a reco, played none of the preseason games, and barely had a touch this year. Unbelieveable.

And now Leigh Brown is rucking. Fraser to dominate supercoach this week!

I guess the time must have muddled your memories. Pace to burn, excellent footskills off both sides and intense defensive pressure all in one awesome package.

Bit of a surprise to see him this early in the season.... but a very welcome one.

More time for Davis and Thomas in the middle is the only explanation I can come up with.

I can't wait for the game when Dick, Cox, Wood, Sidebottom and Goldsack are all in the same side...

If there is a God, Bruce will be commentating with Cometti.
It will be like two school girls behind the boys locker-rooms taking about willies.:D:D:D

Thats probably it. Thomas was one of our only shining lights - in the middle too - last week. Davis was ill apparently so should be better this week and has been good in the middle too. Not only that but we had a real lack of class and polish last week which may have got us over the line against the Crows so Dicks inclusion is just commonsense.

and Johnson:D Pity David Fanning is not still running around!

Hopefully Dick's inclusion will provide stiffer competition for the opposition. Hopefully the rest of the boys harden up too. He was probably brought into the team to fill a hole.
Abit disppointing when Dick comes in and the 'Sack' gets left out! Maybe they can't all fit in the Side-bottom.

Oh well, at least we'll have double penetration into the forward line with both Dick and Cox.
