I believe they were cousins. Dean was a very talented player, but had attitude issues. after being delisted, he returned and had a great year for the demons, reportedly several clubs were interested in drafting him..... all he had to do was show up to the state screening, and he didnt show, he got an exemption i think and then didnt show to the make up screen :o... dont think he has played for the demons since.

Ahhh yeah, I remember that story. Was him, you're right!

...I'd have attitude problems if my name was Dick as well. Could you imagine the shit he'd cop around the footy club! :)

lol, you would think that by now he would be pretty resillient. anyway if stiffy johncock can deal with it and become a great player, then the pair of dicks should be able to as well :D

All in all I reckon hes worthy of a rookie spot even a pick 85. We got nothing to lose. If he becomes 2012s version of nick lower I will be happy.
 
Oh, and does anyone really believe that the Collingwood brainstrust would've de-listed him if they thought he was likely to recover well and become the gun player they had hoped ? The Magpies medical staff fingerprints will be found all over the de-listing lodgement form now held at AFL House......... and we all know how much Collingwood people usually like to hold on to Dicks !!

They did ask him to stay and train with them because they were hoping to rookie him. We have doctors too.

Spot on, Collingwood didn't expect him to bolt.

It's like when we did the same thing with the guys we did it with like Ruffles, Crowley etc, you expect the bloke to still be there. In this case he won't be and that is because we got in to him about coming home.

At the same time, if I'm Collingwood I'm not too fussed. They do have quite a few options on the list that can fill his role. You don't delist someone if you need to keep them or badly want them to stay.
