TBH I never even noticed the comment until it was pointed out. I was just really pleased to see an article bringing together the old and new Port Adelaide Football Club heritage under the one club umbrella.

We have a great competitive advantage here with two teams and one club. You can take the boy out of Port Adelaide but ... Brad's return to Port Adelaide - to Alberton as REH noted - is an advertisement for One Port Adelaide that money could not buy. We Are Port Adelaide. It is a tremendous fillip to the concept and dare I say to the marketing people at Port Adelaide.

Rather than concentrating on the differences let's focus on the commonalities. We all have to pull together to build the One Club, We Are Port Adelaide campaign. Sure pull up the recalcitrants as needed but don't let the positive message be lost.

Imagine if we could get a player to do the switch again ...

Rick I think I'm one of the least negative people on this board but you know, sometimes you just get fed up and enough is enough type thing...

I'm overwhelmingly happy that Brad is HOME, HOME where he belongs but the pot shots take their toll.

I honestly don't know how you all live with it in Adelaide.

My mum would be visiting me in Yatala if I lived down there.

BRAD Ebert is poised to be a big-time player at Port Adelaide, according to new team-mate Danyle Pearce.

On the eve of the Power's first intra-club hit-out for 2012, Pearce said the former Eagle had shocked him with his outstanding training displays. "He's been absolutely fantastic on the track," he said at Port's AFL community camp at Port Augusta.

"I knew Brad could play but I think he's surprised most of our players with just how hard he works and how good he is on ball and at the stoppages. We expect him to be a really good player for us this season."

Either way, great read and the way everyone is talking Brad up, he seems like he will come out firing to live up to the expectation. Really keen to see him tomorrow. Wish he was my Buddy. Would trade Dom and a Butcher badge in a heartbeat.

I'm interested in seeing both. I guess there is something about Chad that excites people as he's completely new and not tarnished, not to mention skill to burn.

Our midfield desperately needs 2 things: A good tap ruck and a big inside player.

If one of our rucks can step up and Ebert can fit in well it will help Boak, Hartlett and Gray to find more space and time with the ball instead of being bogged down every time they get near it and our midfield will quickly go from bottom 4 to top 8 material.

Well we know there was a difference, hopefully not there still, so some of it is going to be due to how bad we were. All we can hope is that that's not ALL the reason he's standing out and Brad is desperate to move from a good midfielder to a gun midfielder. Fingers crossed.

i'm way more excited about brad he'll probably play every game this season. he was the best midfielder we could have got after last year and we got him. OK not in terms of talent or perceived talent but age, Port boy, and who we could attract, you know. it's a great boost and it's exciting to have a number 7 again, especially a young Ebert. I reckon a lot hinges on Cassisi because if he's fit and playing well it's a huge boost because he takes so much of the grunt work, Ebert should be a great compliment to him in the middle, leaving guys like Boak and Hartlett primed to deliver.

BRAD Ebert has sent a strong message to his detractors - "I've still got a lot of improvement to come".

Port Adelaide's best player over its two NAB Cup openers, Ebert says he is hell-bent on proving himself as an elite midfielder after suffering the pain of being dropped from West Coast's finals side last year.

Good to see Brad Ebert is doing well, having watching him grow as a player at West Coast.But feel the article is incorrect as in it assertion that Brad Ebert did not get opportunities on the ball at WCE in fact out of all are young brigade of midfielders you would have to say he had the most.He's a great mark and a good set shot.But his disposal under pressure is poor I think port are heading in the wrong direction trying to make him an elite midfielder , have a look at his disposal efficency from the weekends game.Not trolling just giving a outside opinion on a player.

He is a harder worker than anyone at port and he also reads the play as good as anyone. What's going to stop him from reaching his absolute potential at his true home team?
