Ebert + Lycett for Pick 6 and Port's priority?

You would have to have a long hard look at that.

I want to keep Lycett as well, he will be a good player and ideal back up for Cox.

BUT if you want pick 6, then you have to give up. Would you rather trade Waters or Butler?
Who's available at 6 in this draft that would actually help the squad now to get rid of a, equivalent long term talent? Lycett + 28 (If we had to settle for it) > pick 6 this year IMO. Always take the talent you can see for yourself.

People get far too enamoured with picks...

Firstly, let me say I am a huge Ebo fan. Good in the air, tough, chirpy (gives it too his opponants, does a lot of great stuff off the ball)
Secondly, this....
http://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/sport/a/-/eagles/10374138/contracts-on-hold-for-fringe-eagles/
"Ebert hails from South Australia and has natural links to Port Adelaide where his cousin Brett has played 150 games. He is understood to be considering his future after struggling for game time in West Coast's midfield this season.Coaches preferred to play him at half-forward as fellow youngsters Luke Shuey and Scott Selwood showed rapid development around the stoppages.
The change in roles coincided with him being dropped once during the home-and-away season before losing his place again after the club's 20-point qualifying final loss to Collingwood."

So, the way I read it, he gets dropped because he has been overtaken, cracks it then wants out. I am ****ing filthy with him.

I can say a lot more but read the article, make your own mind.

Absolutely filthy, **** off if thats the attitude Ebo.

I am gutted. :thumbsd::mad::(
WTF? I think you're reading waaaaay too much into that.

Oh and for the trade, might as well just get pick 28. We got Darling for 26 last draft so you never know, also I don't think we want any of their players because they're all spuds.

Dont be harsh on the kid, the second he got drafted their was uproar from his family in SA.

I was listening to the draft call that day, and his uncle was gutted he'd end up at a club with the culture of the West Coast Eagles (yeah yeah a few years is a loooooong time in footy). You just knew the moment he could walk he would. The name is as Port Adelaide as Alberton is.

I'd never be dirty on a player for that reason. If Port had picked up say a Jakovich/Matera I'd feel for you guys too and would never hold it against the kid if he left.

I think most of us feel pissed off at the fact we will get **** all for him. It's fair enough to say pick 28+player, but it's who that player is exactly that worries most of us. pick 28 in this draft is getting shafted.

I am looking further than that. IF we get pick 6, the eagles will be doing everything they can to get their hands on Coniglio or O'Meara. That is where the real prize lies.

I don't want to get rid of Lycett.

But we only have 2 spots on the list currently, a player and a pick is going to be useless for us. Unless we trade or delist a whole bunch of players we are only going to be using 3 picks max.

I think best case for you guys is probably 28 + 33 for Ebert + 45.

Best case for us is probably 28 + 51 for Ebert + 63.

Anyway, pie in the sky Gray/Lycett deals are just silly and would never happen for good reasons on either side.

If the Kurt Tippet trade goes ahead and the crows recieve pick 4 from the suns would you be happy if they ontraded pick 4 and 53 to you for Brad Ebert and Pick 23. Or would you rather a player from their list? I'm saying he'll go to Adelaide because Brett Ebert looks on the way out of Port.

I'm guessing he's been told that he's unlikely to be given more midfield time at West Coast and he sees an opportunity at Port to get more of a run through the middle.

hard to be to critical of a player who wants to return home to a side he has strong family connections to and where he sees better opportunities to play in his preferred position

It's a shame for us as we've put a fair amount of development into him and he has shown the ability to impact games (albeit inconsistently).

Lycett was to be a top 10 pick last year , he dropped to 29 and was a steal .

Lycett is from a town 6 hours from Adelaide , just about closer to WA !
Dont want to lose Lycett

The same Ebert who got offered a contract at Port?

Finally someone is talking some sense.

I'd do Lycett and Ebert for 6 and our priority I reckon... (Lycett is a Port Magpie too)

As for Gray, F no. The guy is arguably our most talented player, and Ebert isn't exactly setting the world on fire.

If you yet ebert he will be your most tallented player.

Lycett stays.

There are also two teams in SA. One actually has prospects.

I'd be happy with pick 4 and 53 :). And no I don't want any of the Port spuds, there's a reason why they finished last.

BWahahahahahaha...sorry but I had to do that. This guy is a muppet of the highest order. I have been saying this for years and will not be missed in the slightest.

Now all we have to do is package up Masten in the deal and we will be basically clean of ball murderers and complete and utter hacks.

Sounds like sour grapes from Ebo...pissed off. So f..k off u weak prick and go to the s..thole that is SA footy.

hopefully we dont get screwed

So how does that logic apply to the 2010 eagles? You should know better

And we didn't finish last. Yes it's close enough but we didn't get the spoon

According to PAFC.com he wants to come to port so I'm sure a deal around pick 28 and 33 or surjan and a pick can be worked

And don't know surjan either - if u got him you would LOVE him

And don't know surjan either - if u got him you would LOVE him

Why?

Seriously I dont know much about these Port players that are being thrown around (apart from Motlop:o) What kind of players are they? Do they fill a need?

Whats Surjan like?

Ebert for pick 28 plus Surjan?
Surjan is a player that Port fans would be loathe to get rid of (at his best he is the best BP in the AFL).

But he was in the doghouse a bit this year, so it may be that Primus doesn't rate him as highly as we do and he is a possible trade. But players have come back from these situations before.

Personally would hate if we traded Surjan. Loves Port.

Time for the boys to start pushing some buttons on the trade calculator to see what we can add to Ebert to score something good. Let's hope PA reeeaaalllly want Ebert and Adelaide show interest to spice it up.
Not surprised, so it makes it easier on the club if they were looking at moving him or another similar player on to get a good draft pick.
Pity to see Houlihan let go, thought he had something to offer, JON yeah well.

Considering our list space is at a premium

Ebert + 23 for pick 6?

Def think Surjan will end up int he trade, however, no idea where he will fit in the back line.

Very good on the small forwards which is handy, but what is his kicking like?
